Grant Hill would be a decent 6th man candidate I suppose, but he was inadequate as the Suns starting SF last year. He just doesnt have the legs for big minutes anymore IMO. I am not sure he would be much better (if at all) than Michael Finley, just a 15mpg max player at this stage on most nights. 8)
Why do you think he was inadequate? The reason they felt comfortable trading Shawn Marion partially stemmed from how high a level Grant Hill was playing at. He was a game changer on both ends of the ball.
My impression was that, several times Grant was abused in matchups against other wing players. In those cases the Suns had no choice other than Boris Diaw as a backup SF and that affected their rotation because they wanted to use him more as a PF. That is why Brian Skinner (who didnt work out that great either) got more PF minutes.

I remember a couple of nationally televised games specifically where Grant Hill was 'lit up' by Josh Howard and Lebron James for key baskets. I realize Lebron is capable of scoring anytime pretty much, but Josh Howard?

As I said above, I believe he is going to be most effective for about 15mpg at this stage of his career. Anything more will just lead to disapointment from unreasonable expectations.  8)
