As the days keep ticking by towards the start of next season I keep expecting to hear of another aquisition to our team. But to my surprise since the re-signing of Tony Allen and Eddie House I have heard nothing. No rumors... NOTHING. I am beggining to wonder is this going to be our team for next year. If it is can we repeat?

PG:Rondo/House/Pruitt
SG:Allen/T.Allen/Giddens
SF:Pierce/Scal/Walker
PF:KG/Powe/BBD
C:Perkins/O'Bryant

If this is our roster can we repeat? I personally think we can but certain players are going to have to step up to fill roles. For example Scal needs to develop a better three point shot and maybe slim down to become faster. Walker and Giddens are going to need to have decent rookie seasons. House will need to be able to control the point better than he did this past year. O'Bryant will need to develop his game and become a strong inside precence when Perkins is out of the game. I know there aren't many great names out there but I would still like to see Danny pick up another G-F type player such as a Bonzi Wells or Darius Miles. Just wondering how the rest of Celtics Nation feels about our current roster.

This is most likely going to be our roster, I can't see anything else happening. Do I think we'll repeat? I hope, but I think like you said, everyone needs to step up. Posey will without a doubt be missed this year.

Like you said Posey will be missed but I think if certain player step up the can jointly fill his role. I think Doc will test alot out at the beggining of the year with this current roster.

I'm having difficulty seeing as how these two questions are connected, since I hope/expect PJ Brown (or other vet) to join the team for the playoff push.

In any case, this looks like the opening roster.

celtics will open the season pretty much as is. maybe one vet addition but that would be it.

the bench without posey is still going to be effective, but the style will change. instead of posey playing defense and shooting 3s, allen will defend and score by going to the basket. i expect allen to score more than posey did.

as for outside shooting, that will fall upon house. and on that area the celtics may be a bit weaker if for no other reason than they now lack two 3 pt shooters....unless one of the rookies can step up in that area.

but the bench will be a good one and the starters have proven they are the best in the nba.

i think this team has a very good chance to repeat.

I think that the most hopeful 'spin' on losing Posey is that it does force some changes. So instead of 'let's just do it again', we have a new look from the bench and the thus need/motivation to redefine and grow as a team.   I think subtle changes to a championship team is healthy.   The 'new' team is now put to the test and given the requisite time to evolve.   Repeat is certainly a possiblility, and if we rest on the assumption that the big three will be equally effective as last year, there does need to be either an individual who makes a leap (in overall play or improved consistency) or collective growth that compensates for the loss of Posey (and one could add playoff PJ to what has been lost and must be overcome).

I think that it is exciting to anticipate and then observe who of Rondo, Perk, O'Bryant, Pruitt, Walker, Giddens, TA, Powe or BBD will step it up. Lots of possibilities there!  But, in answer to the OP's question -- I do think this is the opening day roster but I also hope that a veteran C or a solid backup SF is added. I like current roster at the 1, 2 and 4.

I think they will keep a spot open, like last year, so that they see how the team performs, where their weak spots are, and who becomes available,  before committing to that last roster spot.  Unless there is a trade, this is the team.

Grim question that deserves a grim answer.

I don't expect any moves - until it becomes clear that we're going to need help to post the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Which we will.

I really think we need to make a move at the SF position Scal we be burned by any player and can be as affective as Posey was on the offensive end. So I really hope for a move like A Bonzi Wells or A J.R. Smith and I really hope Giddens and Walker will get time... Also look for Pruitt to contribute A lot thats is my summer prediction.

Also a restricted FA out there Dorell Wright.. I'm sure the Heat would match the MLE we could throw at him but he could be a nice young player to back up Pierce good length and could learn how to play better D with this team

you think that we'll go for PJ again at the end of the season?
