Ditto. Quite possibly my favorite all time player. For all the head aches, we got 7 and 1/2 year Hall of Fame stint. But I think Manny summed it up best with " Enough is enough."

Agree 100%
Thanks Manny, you were fantastic while you were here, sorry it ended like this. Would have been nice to finish out the contract and win another World Series, but good luck in LA, unless we meet in the fall.
And no, Celticbloggers, I don't absolve Manny of blame- it's all on him being greedy-the stupidity is an act- he justs wants a new contract. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate him as a player.

Manny turned himself into TO.  It's too bad, because he was always a favorite player, always so goofy, yet killed the yanks.  unfortunately, he has probably completely tarnished his reputation in my eyes.  I wasnt sad to see him dealt.  i think it makes us a worse team, but he had to go.  once again, greed ruins a great thing.

thank u Manny for 2 world series, all the great moments an hillarious antics.

please dont compare manny to TO, of course he wants a new contract, they should have kept him until he retires, there is no salary cap in baseball, so they could have kept him if they wanted, clearly, management forgot how long it took the franchise to win a title, and now they trade away one of the main pieces to that success

Thank you ManRam!!

I can now die in peace knowing I saw a Red Sox World Series win.

There was about a 40 year period of my life there that I thought I wasn't go to see it happen.

Thanks again, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I put Manny in the same category with Pedro and Nomar.  They were all some of my favorite players to play for the Sox in my lifetime, and no matter how they went out, it will never overshadow all of the great times they gave me rooting for them.

He became TO.  He put his own demands over the team.  He quit on the team.  If he had simply gone to the media and said I want a new contract that would be one thing.  but he didnt.  he said Boston didnt deserve him.  he attacked ownership on numerous occasions.  over what?  so he could be a FA at the end of the year.  well guess what, the contract he signed included option years.  I am sick of athletes becoming whiny babies when they sign contracts and then dont like the results before it ends.  He gave them no choice but to trade him, and I am truly saddened that I look on Manny with disdain now rather then the joy that their should be.  I honestly hope he has a terrible rest of the year and signs for less then boras has told him he could get.

Thanks for the memories Manny. It was a great ride. I'm a big Dodgers fan outside of Boston but you are 36 and something had to be done with your impossible personallity. So knocked a Secretary on his ass, how many fans does he put in the seats?

They really did trade Ruth and Manny. At least they weren't dumb enough to trade him to NY. Now we'll have to see if another curse will strike for decades.

Thanks Manny, too bad you're still just the only 3rd on my Red Sox heroes list behind Nomar and Pedro.

Thanks for 8 great years manny, I'm sorry it had to end like this, But perhaps this will work out better for all involved.

Thanks for being the bright spot in the lean years, and an absolute stud in the winners, in your words.

I love you man. really man, i love you.
