With their 14th round pick, the Toronto Raptors select Reggie Miller.  We have been in talks with Reggie since the begining of the draft.  He said he would only come back if he thought there was a realistic chance of winning a title.  "Its clear that the raptors are one of the more dominant teams in the Eastern Conference, Its really a shame that i didnt listen to KG last year cause then i would have my ring.  Watching him win one thinking I could have been there too has pushed me to this point and I look forward to contributing to the raptors off the bench and hopefully my presence pushed them over the top."

Reggie Miller is experiencing dementia. Someone help that man!

That's fine, because if Koponen can't play this year I'm signing Michael Jordan and John Stockton.

Haha.  If M.J. still had the desire to play, I'd certainly take him over, say, Ira Newble.

i really don't have a problem with this, since it was pretty creative, but clearly this (practice) could become an issue.

The rule on this is that you're pretty much allowed to draft any retired player you want.  However, 1) you take that player in the condition they are currently in, and 2) there is no guarantee that they'll play for your team.  In assessing the various teams, the other general managers have to ask "would Michael Jordan really be inclined to come out of retirement at this point?", etc.

So, it's all in good fun, but ultimately, a pick of Michael Jordan is a wasted one.

"Wasted" is such a harsh word.

If it wasn't for conditioning, I'd say MJ could still average in the mid to high teens in PPG. Unfortunately, I think he'd be out of breath after 2 trips up the floor.

I'm pretty sure Evantime34 / the Warriors already took him.

Yeah you're right I forgot about that.

Who's your overseas prospect? Nachbar? I haven't really got MJ, I was just saying in jest that if Reggie can play then so can he.

I'm thinking our next pick may be Donald Faison, he seemed to perform well during celebrity basketball events and would save us a ton of cash as he could also be the teams surgical consultant.

Sorry for the hold up all, didn't realize I could make a selection.

With the 8th pick in the 15th round, the Atlanta Hawks select Walter Sharpe.

How does "signing FA's" work after the draft? Is it just the first person to write something like this gets him?
