To be honest, I always liked Gordon's columns and wish him well at Yahoo. Unlike with Borges and May, I am saddened at his departure.

I think you're right. Also, when I read the thread title, " Candle in the Wind " was the first thing to pop into my head.

The Globe offered all employees buyout options. Edes took his (to go to Yahoo as previously reported), but the Globe refused him, saying that he was too valuable. He took the Yahoo job and filed a grievance to get his buyout money.
