So it turns out our own Lucky the Leprechaun was once.  I couldn't find another source indicating when and what specific event.
My brother used to tell me he was pretty sure when they signed Lucky they just drove a car down to South Boston and picked the most acrobatic fan.  Apparently there was a little more logic behind the decision.

Anyways, just thought it was interesting.
