Remember how the process began?....If I recall correctly,Jeff posted a "Take this with a grain of Salt" type post-which had a link to a CelticsNation post(from a guy supposedly working in the Timberwolves front office)...We all spent the next day or two switching between Here and Realgm for more info...most of us were skeptical, until that friend of Big Al's posted "There is truth to this rumor"

Can someone find Jeff's original post?...I'd like to read the entire thread again. Here's an Espn story:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2954127

I'd also like to hear some stories from you guys on how you felt as this played out...Just for fun, as the 1 year anniversary approaches...Thanks!

I remember following the daily rumors hoping he would come to Boston while many of you including my brother didn't want the trade to happen because of Big Al. The night before the trade happened, I had read a post on here and felt it was going to happen the following morning. Well it was probably 2AM in the morning (pacific) and I couldn't sleep because I was so excited of the possibility. I made a small bet on an online casino ($10 to win $200 on Eastern Conference and $20 to win $2000 to win it all). Not a big bettor at all so thought $30 was worth the chance. Well the next morning the deal was looking even better chance of happening that I went back to put more money but they took it off the board.

$2200 later and most importantly a ring is how I'll remember the few days leading up to the trade. Thanks CelticBlog. haha

Good story...I do remember everyone worrying about losing Big Al,also Shira Springer mad the mistake of saying Jefferson wasn't in the deal at first-only to look a little foolish.

But,looking back on how the entire thing took place-we were really witnessing the re-birth of this Great team after 22 years of hope, disappointment, tragedy.

TP what a great thread...i remember that day like it was yesterday. I was camping in Maine for that week so i didnt have a computer and wasnt able to get the updates from celticsblog or anything for that matter. I remember i was charging my phone throughout the day and when i finally checked i noticed i had like 20 missed calls from like 10 different people. Knowing something was up, I immediatly called one of my buddys back and as soon as he picked up the phone all i could here was him screaming "KEVIN GARNETT!!!, WE GOT KG, AHHHHH"...I, of course, joined him in screaming and choas ensued as i was literally doing laps around the campground telling every possible human i came across, guy or girl, that the C's aquired KG...it was one of the greatest moments of my life haha......Wow it feels really good to reminisce about that day haha

Anyone else got any good/crazy stories on how they 1st found out??
one lucky shot deserves another

I was one of first persons to reply to that Celtic Nation thread calling the guy a fake and saying there is no way this deal would happen.

Glad it did, though.

i was actually a little upset because of al's incredible low post skills. i was sold on al jefferson after he completely ripped apart duncan last year. however, defense wins championships, and you gotta give up something to get something.

Minor correction but...

since we are talking about my 15 minutes of 'fame', Jeff posted MY INFORMATION and he broke the trade before Celticsnation did. (I am pretty sure)

I found out from a totally random insider, actually an accountant who was crunching the numbers for the controller. He texted me and called me in a total panic from inside the office THE SECOND it happened...

Like someone else said, either way I am glad it happened!!

It was July 30th, about 11:30 PM. I was in the Celticsblog chat room and everyone was talking about how KG is close to being a Celtic. I didn't believe them at all because I thought KG didn't want to come to Boston. I was one of the people that was a little scared to lose Big Al so I wasn't too excited about the rumors. I talked in the chat about this rumor for as long as 45 minutes. As I signed off the chat room there was a topic post about the KG rumor and that it hit the mainstream on Celticsblog. I couldn't sleep the whole night because I was looking for more info all over the web. The next morning it became official. One of the most exhausting and exciting two nights of my life. LOL.

I remeber, I was on the site I Heart KG, when the first rumours came out and Andy Miller (that's KG's agent right?) squashed the rumour, my feelings were squashed too (I am a KG fan btw, so I didn't feel happy KG was still in 'sota).
Then came the second waves of rumour, I remember it was only like a day and a half before the trade happened, that those news just came flooding quite literally, and there was no sign what so ever before that (apart from the earlier rumour in June). Then when I came home from school, turned on my computer straight away caze I knew something was up with the sudden flood of rumours, then there it was on Iheartkg, clear as anyway, KG goes to Boston. And that was pretty much one of the happiest moment of my 18 year life back then, I was jumping up and down, walking up and down the corridor like KG does on the court before game hyped up, then I began texting some of my mates and I was just happy, no better way to put it.
Anything is possible!!!

This thread takes me back to the awesome NBA commercial about the KG news.

(I'm assuming it's okay to post the video? I couldn't find a rule against it in the rules section)

I didn't want the deal done because I didn't want to lose Al Jefferson and I was never that impressed by KG when we played them. I started to change my mind when I heard Sean Grande talk about KG on Mohegan Sun Sports Tonite. He broadcasted T'Wolves games and knew KG better than anyone around here. I was truly convinced when I saw that press conference. The continuing grin on PP's face and the way KG talked made me think good things were going to happen. I then realized we had only about 8 players on the roster that day and only 1 was a truly proven player.

Reading the CelticsNation thread,I totally forgot about the "Cruise" KG was on and how we were going to have to wait until he came back for the trade to become official...haha.
