So is this going to be like a live draft kind of thing here on Celticsblog where you have to be present at the draft etc?

Last year it went a full 15 rounds over a few weeks.  In addition, I'm pretty sure it was over a holiday, although I'm not remembering which one off of the top of my head.  People would come and go.  Make some picks and then head off.  You could PM a list of your picks to a moderator, but that made me quite uncomfortable since the moderators were also participants.  (No matter how much I trust someone, I'm NOT comfortable telling them who I'm planning on picking in anything of this sort).

It was a blast actually.  I just wish I had had more time to dedicate to it and I wish I would have decided to go young out the gate rather than to be immediately competitive from the 28th draft slot.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

2. Clifford Ray (please apply only if you are Clifford Ray)
3. Jumbotron operator
4. ____blog.com founder and CEO (every make believe team should have a blog!)

I have aspirations to be the next Clifford Ray, so can I apply to be him? haha If not can I be Kevin McHale or at least the Jumbotron operator?

I sent almost half of my picks via PM and do not remember  a single time when my pick was stolen by the Mod. Even if you are not comfortable with it because Wdleehi is not having a team and being the commish it shouldn't be a problem. I believe the holiday was the 4th of July.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think I only made one realtime pick.  I had to call in all of them, but it had nothing to do with the integrity of the moderators or anything like that.  There were a few instances where my players were picked, but I think that's just how well I was drafting in accordance with value.  In fantasy leagues I've just never been comfortable with anyone knowing the value I give to players, it's a decided advantage to have that kind of information.

Are there rules or a format for this anywhere?  I'm a bit confused by the concept still.  It's not a fantasy/roto type thing?
Yup

The format, basically, is that you control a team, and you're drafting a 15-man roster.  You construct it like you would if you were an actual NBA GM.  You can put together a team of vets, a "team of the future", etc.

Last year, how it worked is that everyone was given a time by which their next draft pick needed to be in, and at that time, the person would post in the forums who their player was.  We did one round a day, for 15 days (not counting holidays or weekends).  I know wdleehi has some plans to deviate from last years setup, though, in terms of keeping things moving more quickly.

Also, not to step on wdleehi's toes on this, but please keep in mind that if you're signing up for a team, you're expected to be *active*.  One of the things that hurt the draft last year was people who logged into the site once per day to make their draft pick, or missed making their picks altogether.  That's not something anybody is interested in repeating this year.

(That last part wasn't aimed at anybody in particular, but rather as a general reminder.)

I have 24 posters showing interest.

I also know there are quite a few from last year that have not PM me yet.
