question. does anyone know the contract situation of bonzi wells? he wasnt on the 2008 free agent list at realgm.com so im wondering if we could get him at a cheap contract buyout now that the hornets have posey as well now. im sure we have a good shot at  getting him and i think he would be a great fit at a great price. please compare bonzi's stats to poseys as well as their veteran experience and physical dimensions and you will see that they are very similar players STATISTICALLY. it is obvious that posey is a better defender possibly with greater intangibles, but the celtics were wise not to give a 4 year contract considerign their contract situation, and now they just need to find a solid vet like bonzi, who actually avg'd more steals and blocks than posey in less minutes played. he is a bit shorter than posey but he is just the kind of 6 man vet this team needs right now after posey left, and one who we can afford. let me know what you think...

Why not Ben Pepper? Why not use less  caps?

I was thinking a lot about Bonzi on this team as well, and I think he brings some things to the table that other guys don't, he has a nice skill set for his size.  Just don't let him get out of control.

I think that Bonzi was so terrible last season during the playoffs for New Orleans that Byron Scot had to kept him in the doghouse during the decisive games. I think he has been declining quickly in the last 2 years. I think his career shouts "problems". I think we already have Tony Allen. I think we already have..hmmm... Rondo, Pruitt, House, Ray, Giddens, Allen, Walker, so 7 guys with 6'5'' or less, plus 2 undersized PFs. I think he's the kind of player that can cost you an elimination game during the playoffs. I think he can't play within himself and the system.

Can't sign Bonzi now. That would leave Eddie House as the only reserve in the rotation that can make a jump shot. Tony took Bonzi's role.

Why Tony over Bonzi? No idea. That could have gone either way, no real separation between the two. More different than better.
