just reading about him in SL. i think he is a FA, no?

his defense would obviously be a step backwards, but he definitely can shoot the rock...

No interest at all.  He got his try-out here, and couldn't keep up.  He's done nothing to impress since them.

Here's all you need to know about Jackson:  He's almost 27 years old, he's played for four seasons (with four different teams) and has appeared in a grand total of 73 games.

73 games in four years, due to both injuries and just not being very good.  No thank you.

(Also, his shooting is overrated.  He's shot above 37% from the field once in four years.  Last season, he shot 32.5% from the field in 14 games.)

i thought Danny actually liked him, but that it was more of a numbers game when he left......you know DA likes shooters.

i still think he hasn't quite found the right situation.

We have three roster spots open, assuming we sign both Giddens and Walker.  We need to fill them with players who can contribute now, rather than projects.

Also, as said above, Jackson hasn't really demonstrated that he's much of a shooter.  If you want a player who does everything Jackson does, but 100 times better, sign Nachbar.

I think we would be better off with Dahntay Jones and his defense. ;D

I liked Luke ok but I think there are better options like Maurice Evans and even Michael Finley that fit into our team concept a little better and can actually deliver something production wise.

I noticed today that the Nets are looking to unload a player because they will have 16 guaranteed contracts if the Dooling deal works with Orlando. I dont really want the kid from Connecticut, (Marcus point guardicus) and I think he is the one they are pushing at everyone.

I am not sure who anyone else likes from that roster who would be cheap or even available, but they have no room to re sign Nenad Krstic if I read this thing right. I think we can grab him for a year or two at half the midlevel and not go wrong, providing he passes a physical of course.

I would also as RH suggested consider Nachbar.  8)

I haven't really seen Luke Jackson play in a while and he's not someone that really stood out to begin with, but maybe he just gets stereotyped as a good shooter.  I was just looking at his NBA stats and I'm not impressed.

In 73 games over 4 years (only 73 games in 4 years!? Do you think he could handle 100+ for us?) he's a career 73.2% free throw shooter, 36% 3 point shooter, and 35.7% from the field.  He was much better at Oregon
(84.9% FT, 40.2% FG3, 46.1% FG) but how come that never translated to the NBA?  Maybe it has to do with injuries and limited playing time and not being in the rotation, but I don't think he's shown anything in the NBA that shows he belongs.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

  • You know my methods, Watson.
"help wanted: ballboy needed...must be able to track down loose basketballs and have the ability to accurately pass them to a stationary or mobile shooter before games...also must have experience filling cups with gatorade and handing out towels."

perfect job for luke jackson...

i'm not sure that the list of players that can come in and contribute right now is either long or good.

the names bandied about here the past few days do absolutely nothing for me....

there's no number argument to be made for him, that's for sure.

but anybody who has watched the kid shoot knows he has a great stroke. i think he has not found the right spot. maybe he never will.....

i just would like to see other names popping up because the bonzi wells'  of the world are just not doing it for me....

On top of that I would add players who can play defense.  Cs will probably be without their two best off the bench defenders next year (Posey and Allen).
