Great interview. Really shows how silly a lot of panicking has been.

Posey points:
- Lineup wasn't good with Posey at 4 and they avoided that in playoffs. Meant fewer minutes for Posey. Team will play large more.
- Posey's defense good on some, not so good on others

An excellent interview. I think Danny knows what he's doing. It also seems that the negotiations with Posey and his agent were amicable and Danny even offered a bit more in terms of years at the end (which he didn't want to) and Posey made the choice he felt was best for him. The handling of this situation was important. Pose will always be in our hearts for what he helped the team accomplish, but it's time to move on in a professional and not an emotional manner.

So once again Danny is looking for that elusive "power three".  Any FAs fit the bill?

I don't think "Power three" is his point as he made no such comment. Power 4 is the point. He (and most posters it seemed) didn't feel small ball with Posey at the 4 was effective. That would have meant less situations where Posey would be played, since we usually only played him at 3 or 4.

theres only a few players in the entire nba that i think are true power threes: topping the list is ak47 and marion. mostly players are pf or centers, and sg or sf. very rare to have a good sf/pf combo. it requires the player to have good shooting range as well as post defense and rebounding.

Become Legendary.

I definitely agree about Posey being good on defense against some but not against others.  He was very ineffective against LeBron in that series.  Obviously most people are ineffective against LeBron, but I think Pierce did a much better job than James did.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I didn't listen to the interview, but if what you wrote is what Dany said, I don't really like that. No need to downgrade Posey's defense or versatility because he's out the door. Danny and Doc have a habit of doing this. It was a business decision. Posey is gone. No need to diminish his year after the fact.
