I personally think Ron Artest would easily be reigned in by KG, his problems
are obvious, but the guy is a defensive minded guy, and if he could handle coming off the
bench I wouldn't see him as a problem.

Did he cause any problems in sacramento this past season? He's probably looking to
get his value up for his next contract, and what better way then proving he's a team and
helping the Celtics get #18....He can just take a look at how well Posey just made out, and
that should be enough motivation to keep under control.

For all his problems, he gives 110% and I think he would be a risky but potentially great
addition....

Ron Artest is where ball movement goes to die, something we already have a problem with. Additionally, I think his best position is SF, like Pierce's. So I don't see him as a great fit. Additionally that sign and trade is a complete joke of a rumor - has to be right?

After Artest's quotes during the playoffs (which he was not a part of) I think KG would rather kick the you know what out of Artest instead of reign him in.  Artest would be a cancer on a championship caliber team.  If we're going to take a risk on a questionable character guy I'd rather have it be Marbury.  Him and KG get along great.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Since Artest is only signed for one year I'd say it would be worth the risk. He'd be a good replacement for Posey without risking the financial flexibility four years down the road. Isn't that what everybody wanted? They could try Scalabrine + S&T Allen for Artest as the baseline for a deal.

why on earth would sac do that?

"Hey danny, whats up! hmmm... we'll even though ron is a huge chip that expires in a year, we' d love to take your horrid contract and a sign and trade for a FA we could just go out and sign more part of our MLE, sounds good. Whats that? you also want to do my wife as part of the trade? ya, that sounds fine, anything to help out the celtics!"

I wouldn't be shocked if Danny targets some "ubuntu killers."  On a championship, veteran squad, you can often get away with things like that, especially when you have personification of team and intensity leading you in Kevin Garnett.  The Bulls did it with Rodman and the Patriots with Moss and Dillon.  Plus, Danny's already showed signs of going that way: he drafted Giddens who had a shaky past and he's been scouting Darius Miles of the Jailblazers.

I agree that Danny might take a few chances...and I am ok with that...

but Rodman, as crazy as he was, never attacked the fans.

But he did kick a cameraman...not like that was a heck of a lot better.

And I realize the Moss situation is different than Artest.  My larger point is simply that I think given the solid veteran core of this team, Danny wouldn't hesitate to bring in a questionable character along the lines of Darius Miles.

We can argue till we're blue in the face about Artest, but he's not coming here for salary reasons more than anything.
