I dont know what I was expecting. Maybe I have to watch it again. I guess its tough fitting a whole season into 60 min. Also with it being a warner bros production. Is the Globe or anyone local going to produce a dvd? What did everyone else think of the dvd? (I havent had a chance to watch the bonus stuff yet, so maybe there are some good things in there)

Not to sound obtuse here, but the problem is you know the outcome, and you're getting none of the build up in this condensed format.  For me, what made this season extra special goes beyond what happened in the Finals, or the playoffs, for that matter.  The constant, incremental build up, and anticipation that started as far back as the draft lottery in `07, was the thing that made the climax so special, and that's just not going to be captured in a cookie cutter NBA video.

This DVD has its place I'm sure (I haven't seen it yet, but I've seen enough of the same ilk to guess), but the documentary of the full season will be the one, if done right, that I'd be most interested in watching.

I'm anxioulsy awaiting my DVD on order.....sure Ill enjoy it...but I Redz might've hit it (TP)....the thing that made this championship so special is the WHOLE STORY, going back to last year....Redz mentioned going back to the  draft lottery of '07, which is true, but how about going back to the 18 game losing streak of last season?    Had to be the most embarassing time in Celtics history....and to come thru that, and then the lottery, to CHAMPIONSHIP 17...thats what this DVD cannot capture......

Ive been hearing about this documentary....anyone know any details?  If thats done right, im sure THAT will be something all Celtics fans will love to death......I thought I heard Greg Dickerson is involved in it...?  Anyone have anymore info?

The best is to DVR the playoff games on NBA tv in HD - they're replaying almost all of them... my favorites are games 4 and 6 of the finals - in game 4 I just can't believe they will come back even though I know they did and have seen it about 5 times already - in game 6 it is hard to believe at the start of the 2nd quarter that the question at the end of the game will be, do the C's win by 40?

Ah - good stuff...
Now, on to 18...

Looking at amazon, the heat and spurs multidisc sets didn't come out until late october/early november which makes sense. The NBA will milk the rush to get the inital dvd until its dry then suck everybody back with a box set. I'll be patiently waiting for that.

I bought the DVD, but I do have all the Celtics wins on DVR.  Is there any way to copy from DVR to DVD?

So for those who have the DVD, what does the 1 hour video cover? How did you like it?

What do the extras cover? How did you like them?

...I'm trying to decide if I would like to buy this video.

Is the mega set really going to be in the range of 13 disks? That's insanity. I know i'm a freak for wanting to watch a couple keys games a few times, as well as a highlight/documentary.. but, 13 disks is rediculous. Who has time to watch that many disks over and over again?

i bought the dvd and i love it. many chills at various moments. the one hour, which is more like hour and twenty, covers everything from training camp to the finals celebrations. theres commentary from the players, behind the scenes clips, highlights, and narration. the special features cover i am a celtic, previously shown on espn, cavs game 7 4th quarter, pistons game 6 4th quarter, kg's first allstar game, pierce in la. i think its totally worth it... i wouldn't go back and watch any of the games full length, due to time restraints, so the full dvd box set is pointless. this gives me everything i want.

Well the 13 disk is more like each disc is one game plus the official dvd everyone is buying so its more like pick and choose when you want to watch a specific game.

I loved the DVD.  I laughed out loud several times and some of the game highlights in slow motion made my entire body tingle.  It was awesome.  I was at all the games so I never saw the champagne celebration in the locker room, so that was a first for me.  I highly recommend it as a must-have for all true celtic fans.

The only part that disappointed me was that I went into Border's yesterday to purchase it and have it signed by Posey and House.  They both were not very personable.  I didn't see them be really friendly to many people at all.  I tried crack a joke to Posey about him not going to N.O. because the people there would rather watch a jazz show then watch him play basketball.  He completely ignored and didn't even look up at me.  I guess I should have taken that as a hint that maybe a deal was imminent rather than thinking they were just sick of being there.  Then I told them both how much me and my friends loved having them and we wish them the best and will be fans of them no matter what and they seemed appreciative.  But they generally didn't seem to upbeat about being there.
