Unfortunately I can't stop obsessing over this kid's potential.

Somebody stop me!

"Walker went on to have a very strong, if not spectacular, season, and finished the year with averages of 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. His best efforts came in the NCAA tournament when he scored 22 points (on 7-of-12 shooting) in a first-round upset of USC before he struck for 18 points (7-for-11 shooting) and six rebounds in a second-round loss to Wisconsin."

"I think the injuries have helped his development as an all-around basketball player," Martin determined. "When he was recovering, it made him really not try to outjump and outrun everyone all the time because he couldn't for a while. He took that time to learn how to utilize angles better to get to the basket and it made him a more productive player."

"Walker reportedly carried over some of those lessons to the pre-draft camps this spring. While scouts and draft gurus flocked to him hoping to see some of the dunks that had him bordering on schoolyard legend, Walker dutifully displayed his mid-range game with jump shots that revealed an improved form and potential to better his 30.7 percent shooting clip from 3-point range (46.5 percent overall) this winter."

"I have to earn my way in. They are not going to give me minutes just because of who I am. I doesn't matter when you get here. Everyone here is talented. It's the work you want to put in and whether you are ready to dedicate yourself to help the team win. If I have to be a cheerleader, hey, I'll do that. I just want to win."

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it might be an Antoine Walker Workout Video, which would have been funny.  Toine would immediately rank as the second most roly poly workout guru, after Richard Simmons, of course.

How many calories does a vigorous Walker Wiggle work off?

I love Walker already too.  He is saying/doing all the right things so far, and i cant wait till he gets his opportunity to show what he can (and i hope WILL) do.

And if anyone doubts he is anywhere near NBA ready, just watch the workout video.  His game is perfectly ready, i mean, look at him already traveling like a pro, even with no defender.  Are you kidding me, his game has officially made the transition.

Mon... don't get too excited.  Doubt he even gets minutes this year.  I expect about nothing from him, but it's nice to have some new binkies.  All them vets are too predictable.

Hopefully Walker can stick on the roster if he shows enough.  It would be nice to have an up and coming wing player that can play backup minutes for PP/Allen.  The Posey situation is also still up in the air so... yeah there's an opportunity for young Walker to prove that he belongs.  It's kind of amazing that this kind of potential drops all the way to round 2.  Let's hope his knees stay good from here on out...

I love the way this guy interviews. He listens to questions, looks into the camera when talking. Seems very intelligent.

I like what I've seen/read about Walker.

He was a top 10 recruit in 2007 right behind Love, but obviously the knee problems slowed him down/had his stock drop.

I don't like how he's blatantly travelling on the majority of his moves against NOBODY! lol

I wasn't that impressed by his solo play, honestly.

Hey guys, the best part about this thread is that if Walker turns out to be great, woohoo for the team, if he doesnt, than oh well we burned some cash/2nd round pick for em and we still have a championship team to take the court... I love how don't have to live and die on potential anymore, and now that we are living in the present and not in the future, we can finally take chances on guys... without having the franchises hope live and die by POTENTIAL...

[dang] i'm actually starting to like the P word again...

sorry, but scal already has the top honor locked up.

back to walker, if his knee holds up and he can be as good as people projected, ainge has gotten a true star for the celtics, and done so at next to nothing. l\

same could be said for giddens (but substitute "maturity" for "knee"...which looks odd as heck as i look at it here.)

very low cost, high risk, high return decisions by ainge. these are the sort of gambles world champions can take with their lousy draft choices.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

But that on his scouting report.  "Solid interviewing skills"

Thanks for the link.  Anyone happen to know Walker's wingspan?  From the video, looks to be long, but maybe I am wearing those green colored glasses again    ;)

you say that sarcastically and yet, i have no problems with that video... no one is doubting the skill set of these all-star players... and i agree with the lebron quote.
