I'm Watching game 6 of the NBA finals right now. this is the first time I am watching the game on TV, I was at the game. and for superstitious reasons did not tivo or tape the game. As I am watching it, couple of things comes to mind. 1st Bennett Salvatore is a horrible offical. haha

Posey and House have to return to the team. from even before the game starts they are everywhere. During introductions, House is at the end of the line giving each starter a personal handshake. Such as jumping into Perk, and he and Allen shooting a jumpshot. Right before tipoff, as the Starters are going on the floor, Posey gives each one a hug, and tells each player something to inspire them. These things although seem small, play a huge part in team Unity, and more important for the Celtics "Ubuntu"

Of course that can not be the only reason to keep these players. Posey I will not have to tell anyone how important he is, to the team. and house what he lacks in ball handle he makes up for in his intensity, and heart.

Please Danny Don't hesitate. don't let a year be the difference of keeping Posey or losing him.

The Celtics need either them or suitable replacements.

I would be perfectly happy with Peitrus at his point instead of giving Posey the 4 to 5 year contract he is looking for.

Posey is much more important than House.  Sure, they both hustled, but Posey hit more clutch shots and came up with more big rebounds and steals than House.  Furthermore, it'd be tough to find someone with Posey's size.  While you don't love him at the 4, it's nice that at 6-8, he can guard practically anyone on the floor.

With House, while I wouldn't be opposed to having him come back, there's other knock down shooters that can be found.  Furthermore, while I appreciated his efforts, there's no denying that he's not a point guard.  Now that we have the proverbial bullseye on our chests this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see teams look to pressure him more, forcing Pierce or Allen to handle the ball.  And if House is then going to just be a shooting guard, we might as well get someone like Brent Barry who can knock down shots and actually has the size of a shooting guard (not to mention better PG skills).

I Like Pietrus. He can hit the 3 like Posey, and he swats a lot of shots. I would love to see how Pietrus would step up his defense in our system.

I am worried about the prospect of paying 6 million to a 36 year old Posey. Posey would be my first choice for next year, but he could end up a regrettable contract quickly.

I'm praying we get both Posey and House back.

I'm open to giving Posey 3 years at the MLE.  4 years is going to be a little difficult to swallow.  5 years ... I'm probably making an offer to Pietrus.

With regard to Eddie House, this one should be easy with non bird rights unless a suitable option is willing to come in at the minimum.

I could live with 4 years, because KG will be around that long, but I agree, 5 years doesn't seem to make too much sense.

Honestly, if Posey is looking for 6 mill a year for 4 years, I would rather sign Pietrius. He can shoot, plays great defense and is more offensively skilled. I think he's been floundering in Nellie's system which doesn't really play to his strengths.

If i were posey i would be looking for a 4 year 6 million dollar deal. I just don't think danny can give him more than 20 million for 4 years and if either detroit or those hated lakers might give that to him he is gone.

Celtics are not just a posey away to repeat and need more pisces. They want chris andersen and i bet danny is willing to gamble a 3 year 6-7 million dollar type of deal with him. We also could be looking another pg vet who doesn't demand much time on the floor but when he is needed out there can do the job such as a cassell but not cassell himself. A pg like that would command a 1.2-1.5 million deal . so lets say anderson at 2.0 million and a vet pg at 1.2 and thats 3.2. Pietrius wants alot but i think would take a deal for 3 years at 9 million. Danny can get all of these three guys compared to just posey himself.

I strongly feel posey will get the deal he wants with detroit or lakers cuz they don't need so many little pisces like we do

If we get andersen and pitrius as an alternative to posey than the celts have to go through that route. Posey once again will be missed though

I hate having to think about losing Posey and House now.
I'm still so excited about the championship and now we have to think about who goes where, and whose worth what?
This sucks!

I tend to agree with that point of view.

As the Red Sox have shown (Pedro, Damon) a team can remain in championship contention even when declining to wildly overpay aging stars (or in this case, role players).

"Pisces?"  Was that a subliminal "The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh" reference (one of my favorite movies of all time)? I think we should also sign those twins and "Set Shot"  :D

The bigger catch is in 4 years, Posey would probably be earning closer to 9 million then 6 million with the way NBA contracts seem to have pay raises every year.
