Alonzo Mourning has been the best backup center in the NBA over the past three years. He's one of the best interior defenders in the league and a quality rebounder. He's also has some offensive talent.

That's why people want him.

Yup. Mourning is my top choice as a back up 5.

Zo has been one of my favorite players since I was a kid watching him at G-town.  If he can play 10-12 minutes a game that would be great.  He is always full of energy, great defender/rebounder and when he can be a great burst of energy.  He may have some questions with his latest injury, but if he can be had for the vet minimum I think we should give him a shot.

I wish I could say Zo has been one of my favorite players since I was a kid, but he is younger than me.  He provides tough interior defense and doesn't feel like he has to score on offense.  I still would prefer Mutombo, I have always liked his game.  Could you imagine driving the lane with KG and Mutombo there.  One waving the finger (NO, No, No) and the other yelling "Get that **** out of here".  That would be very intimidating.

Why wouldn't you want Zo here, he is a consummate professional, a great defensive player, and a great person (I know he has won at least 1 award for community service)... A better question here would be Why wouldn't you want Alonzo Mourning to play for the Celtics...

With all the thugs, gun carrying, pot smoking, idiotic professional athletes, I am proud to be able to distinguish Alanzo Mourning as the perfect role model to young and stupid athletes.
