The Knicks: Does anyone else want to see them turn it around?

If they can turn it around along with Chicago to start playing up to their ability I think the leagues popularity will sky rocket.  That's the only reason why I'd prefer to see these two teams get better.  When Boston, LA, Chi, and NY are doing well the league does real well.

I'm interested in the sociological question of how bad, for how long, the Knicks would have to be before Grandpa Dolan relieves the odious James "Thanksdad" Dolan of his duties, such as they are.

As far as I'm concerned, the Knicks can suck forever.

No. They scare me because of their unlimited supply of money. Luckily for the Eastern Conference, Isiah had the checkbook for the last couple of years.

And it didn't hurt the rest of the league much that it was Scott Layden before that.  He wasn't exactly splitting atoms, either.

I'll tell you what i am excieted for with the knicks though, Eddie curry and Zach randolph running the floor in mikey D's style, the hillarity that will insue will be endless.

Is it illegal to hook up a backpack of oxegen to a guy while he's on the floor like a jet pack? zach might want to look into that.

right now - hell no.

in 4-5 years when i might be moving to new york, why not? they can get better so long as they're never near our level. it'd be good to see them get their hopes up, then have them shattered. like the lakers this year.

Hahaha, I wish I could lock my own thread.  I completely forgot about this commercial.  They ran that before a preseason game against us, all my friends loved it.  Looks like we had the last laugh.


Actually I don't want this thread to be locked, I want the funny pictures and videos to keep coming so I realize the error of my ways.  I think my problem is I'm still just so happy with the sports world after The Finals.  I was walking around town last night with a Celts shirt on (a NEW 1981 Champs shirt, that one makes a lot of sense, thanks Modells.) and a guy yelled Go Lakers.  I looked back, didn't curse, didn't say anything smug, no inappropriate fingers went up.  I just laughed and kept walking.  Nothing can take me off this sports high or get me agitated at all.

The Celtics have always won by out working, out thinking and playing harder than the rest of the league.  This year was no exception, smart team oriented basketball!

The knicks, other than the Willis Reed, Bill Bradley and Walt Frazier era have tried to get to the top by outspending or out thugging, flare and individual play--when there is a change of attitude maybe i can think of a turn around but as presently constituted who on the knicks does anyone associate with being a hard working smart ball player--maybe David Lee a little, but not the core of the team, most aren't even in shape--

the knicks are not relevant, nor should they or would they be except for the ridiculous amount of press they get because of the NYC market.

I'd like to see the Knicks get better. I really liked watching Ewing play. It would be fun to see a rivalry grow, and see meaningful games in MSG again.

I care about only 2 teams in the NBA:  The Celtics and The Lakers.

I root for Celtics to win and Lakers to lose -- that's it.  I cannot muster any negative or positive emotion for any other team.  I'll root for the C's when they play the Knicks, and I'll root for the Knicks when they play the Lakers.  Other than that, I won't think twice about the Knicks.

BTW -- I never really considered the Knicks-Celtics much of a rivalry.  The days of 'Clyde', 'Pearl', Bradley and Debusschure brought a competitive spirit, but not much of a rivalry as far as I am concerned.  I am indifferent to the Knicks.
