I know we are all really excited about having either Posey rejoin the team  or Maggette coming aboard, but what happens if Someone is willing to go the extra year with Posey and then Maggette decides he wants to be a starter in Orlando or San Antonio?

The only name I could come up with after those two is, dare I say it................

Ricky Davis?

He was actually a very good 6th man that 1st year he was here , he was up for 6th man of the year if I recall correctly. He has played under Doc before and has been teammates with both PP and KG. He is offense off the bench and I think he is very athletic so he should be able to defend adequately in our team defense. I know he is known as a ME first guy around the league, but would you take him back if we lose our on Posey and Maggette?

No offense but I don't even know why Ricky Davis ever gets brought up on this board.  He's been a team cancer throughout his career, plus he showed me absolutely nothing in Miami last year.  All he basically provides is scoring and there are younger, safer (team chemistry reasons), and cheaper options.  Maggette, on the other hand, is much more versatile and does not have the awful reputation of Davis.  I probably still prefer Posey though.

I don't even know where to start on my reasons for why not, so I'm just going to say no.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Without Posey or Maggette our bench is very thin. We should have plenty of money to still sign someone that would fit better than Ricky but if all else fails and he signs for cheap i say yes. He can at the very least provide scoring off the bench which we missed out on last year for the most part.

I'm worried about his lack of quality play since he left Boston. He seems to have taken the whole unreliable thing to a whole other level.

I wouldn't. I'd rather sign a Pietrus in a scenario where we lose those guys. Just a guy who knows his role, plays very good defense and shows up every night.

Pietrus should be our next option........ and then Hassell........ we don't need scoring.... we need defense

Agreed.  Pietrus would be a better option.  The coaching staff here apparently wasn't too enamored with Ricky, so I doubt very much that he comes back.

I guess I'm in the minority, because I'd be all for it. I don't hold Ricky responsible for the crummy teams he's been on, because that's what they were; bad teams.

A good sign your team stinks: Ricky Davis is your second best player. Hello 05-06 C's. 06-07 Wolves, and this years Heat.

He wouldn't be asked to average 20 a game, and would be useful on a second unit where the backup point( House, I'm guessing)really isn't a playmaker. I know he has his warts, but I just feel like people tend to dwell on the negative with him more so than others.

If we can't sign Posey or Maggette and we can get Ricky back for the minimum I don't see why we wouldn't sign him. At the min it wouldn't hurt.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Pietrus and Barnes would be my choices. Man, so many Golden State players are in high demand in free-agency. What has Mullin been doing?

I remember something about that. I remember Doc saying something like " Ricky could be difficult". I also recall an alleged eye rolling incident. It all seemed kind of trumped up to me. I just figured it was management's way of distracting the fans from the fact that they'd traded away the second best player on the team for a guy who would go on to spend most of his time as a Celtic wearing a suit. Imagine what we'd have heard about Pierce had he been dealt to Portland?
