I got this from a Grizzlies forum allegedly from someone there who answers(works for?) to Mr.Wallace :

Quote
Wallace said today that no decision has been made[buying Walker out] but realize that Wallace traded walker not once but twice. Chris asked me what I thought and I said 'if he comes to camp in shape with a good attitude then he would be a positive on the team. If he doesn't he needs to be cut out immediately.' Chris said that Walker's attitude has been very down the last two seasons's since he won the World Championship.

I took from that conversation that Wallace is willing to give him a short leash to show he wants to be a part of the team but the leash is very short. The good news is that Walker should be playing for his last contract and that may motivate him.

I think right now the only thing that would "motivate" Toine is a free buffet...  ;D

No, he means that if Antoine wants to get another contract in the NBA after this year, which could wind up being the last contract of his career, he better play his ass off so teams will have interest in him.  That is good news for Memphis because they might get some production out of him in the last year of this contract.

I'm doubtful that anybody that Chris Wallace relies upon for advice would be spilling his guts to a Grizzlies message board.  Anyway, when I followed the link, I didn't see the cited post, so it may have been deleted.

As for whether or not Antoine gets bought out, I think the biggest consideration is whether Memphis wants to use his contract either this year or next off-season (since he has a team option) to try to bring in an impact player.  If they do, they'll keep him.  If they don't, I'm sure they'll buy him out.  I don't think how Antoine plays in Memphis will affect their decision one way or the other.

Here is the correct one :

And I also am skeptical about any employee spilling his guts to Chris Wallace(of all people)....

I have to say he is prob the worst gm in the nba. How many guards does he have?!? they are all young too and none will really get time to develop properly having to share time. The guy loves drafts, but doesn't know how to build a team

So if chris wallace doesn't want to be fired by end of this year, he needs to send one or both lowry and/or crittenton plus a pick or another vet for some inside help. Marc Gasol nor hakeem warrick are the answers.

I really thought keving love paired with gasol would have been at least something

yea, i agree with the above post. i don't trust anything he says because he really just isn't a good gm. i'm sure he could've gotten serious talent for gasol and i'm sure he'll misuse toines contract. he'll either buy him out and realize he needed that contract to trade, or keep him and realize he kept him for bench warming.

The only thing that motivates Antoine is jacking up as many 3's as possible

Toine did love Red.  I remember a visiting Miami game where Toine went way out of his way to greet Red.
