I think Pruitt can fill the Eddie house role next year. He has a very nice outside stroke. This year in the NBADL Pruitt avg'd 18.6 PPG and shot 36% 3P FG'S with 4 APG ,he is also a lot quicker then house and can get to the rim with his speed. I  still think we need to get a vet PG who can run and offense and handle the ball without turnovers, but as far as a scorer/shooter from the PG position I think Gabe can get the Job done if Danny decides to let House go.

During the reg. season, no problem.

Can Pruitt hit timely and clutch 3s in the Game 4 of the NBA Finals? Or in the clinching game? Can he give us the spacing? And 8 points per game in 18 minutes while shooting 41% from downtown? I have serious doubts.

Gabe Pruitt does not equal instant offense.

I wouldn't be too comfortable with solely House and Pruitt to tell you the truth.

If we get a big PG, then I can be fine with him and Pruitt. If we get House, I hope we get an additional SG who can play some point too, or simply an additional PG who can play some SG (with size).

In all, I'd be pretty much fine with our situation... but I don't think our optimum roster should leave us one injury away from relying on Pruitt to play a big role in the playoffs.

We already do have a SG who can play some point: Ray Allen.  Paul Pierce can too.  We did it this postseason with House in the game getting pressured and it worked well.  Nobody I'd rather have as backup pg on the market (for comparable price) than House. My 2nd and 3rd free agent options would be Pargo and Hunter if we cant get House back.

So well that House couldn't step in the court against Detroit and the Pierce bringing up the ball against them wasn't going so smoothly. It works against certain teams, sure... but once again, not something you want to rely on.

I wonder if people are having problems differentiating between what I feel is our optimum team vs. a team that I feel is capable of winning the championship. They're two completely different issues.  Sure we can have Ray and Pierce bring down the ball, but is that our optimum option or team? I believe not.

The couple of times I watched Pruitt play in the D league, his team had some slow dude running the point a lot of the time, and Pruitt looked like an out of control gunner playing next to him.  Now, this was in his first stint out West.  I guess he played a bit more solid in his last turn out there.

Even if Pruitt put in a solid 09, I'm not going to be too comfortable with an unproven guy at PG int he playoffs. Of course, I was a bit uncomfortable with our starting PG on the road int he playoffs, and with both our backups most of the time at home and almost all of the time on the road in the playoffs.

To me, Pruitt's a third team PG unless he can really shine when given the chance to step in there.

Gabe is to unproven and I don't know for sure if he has Eddie's range yet.  I could see him getting some minutes next year but we really need another PG.

nbdl != nba.  There's no way he can fill that role next season.

The front office knows all it needs to know about Pruitt, and will either sign a decent player for the LLE if he is not ready, or an emergency player for the vet min to be the #3.
"All I have to know is, he's my coach, and I follow his lead. He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." - Teddy Bruschi

I disagree. There's no game evidence whatsoever - and the NBDL doesn't equate to evidence - that Pruitt is ready for prime time.

Its likely that we'll sign a PG to be #2 behind Rondo but give Gabe Pruitt a chance to prove himself during the season. Our goal should be to develop him into a dependable PG for next season.

House has a much better stroke. Don't ignore 5% - more then that House hits his 40% when everyone on the court knows that's what he does. He is a pure shooter. Gabe is not.

Gabe Pruitt = Jackie Manuel - he won't be on the roster come opening day (in my opinion only)

Eddie House is a gamer.  James Posey = gamer.  Leon Powe = gamer.  They're not roles you just fill.  It takes chemistry to win a championship.

If you want to get rid of someone, get rid of Tony Allen.  Great defender...seems like a real clown, though.  I was at the game he blew his ACL...what a fool.  Did it while dunking for absolutely no reason - play was well over.

KG must be a fool then too because he goes up to block shots after the whistle blows every time.
