weve been debating on whether the writing is on the wall for tony with these 2 picks. some say yes he comes back others say no we wont resign him. but what about eddie? and when i say this, unlike the tony situation where the question is will we want him back, for eddie i think the question is will HE want to stay or not??

pruitts gonna be pushing for time next season. weve just added 2 athletic wings, one of which doc and danny seem to firmly believe can play right away next year. add that to posey who they want to resign. houses minutes could really be squeezed. add on top of that how he was unceremoniously dumped from the backup pg position by doc for a guy who arguably was the worst celtic player in the playoffs and maybe eddie seriously questions whether he wants to stay here. anyone who knows me here knows im a HUGE eddie house fan myself but if posey comes back, much to my dismay, i could really see eddie looking for greener pastures again.

I like house a lot - I actually thought his defense was underrated - but guys like him are really a dime a dozen in this league. Here is a list of unrestricted free agent guards I would be happy to have:

Earl Boykins
Chris Duhon
Tyronn Lue
Anthony Carter
Juan Dixon
Lindsay Hunter
Jason Williams
Jannero Pargo
Fred Jones
Carlos Arroyo
Eddie House

No one on that list shoots as well as House. And it's not even close.  IMHO House also improved his pg skills over the course of the year.  That pass to TA for the dunk in game 6 was pretty nifty-- perfectly timed and right on the money.

i agree 100% but if rondo god forbid should go down. i know doc would not feel comfortable with pruitt and house as his remaining pgs. although they did that this year and was fine. i think theyd fill in fine but i have the suspicion doc wouldnt be which is a shame.

House is the best shooter of the bunch, but he also has the worst handle. I think Duhon would be a really solid upgrade - he is known for his defense, and knocks down 36% of his threes career vs. 38% for House career. Duhon is a guy that could step in and start if Rondo went down, Eddie is not.

Pargo is probably my second choice.

After his playoffs performance, I'd say that Pargo is going to be demanding considerably more money than House.

I really want House back, he brings a ton of energy and passion to the team like his save in game 7 against Cleveland.  Lindsey Hunter is probably one of the best backup pgs in the league though

Seriously, how much can House command?  I really believe if Ainge and Doc want him back he will return because I don't see him getting great offers from other teams.  I don't think House has great options elsewhere, so why not come back to a team where he has a good chance at winning another title.  He would certainly be the backup next year because Cassell is not returning.
Easy guys ... I put my pants on just like the rest of you, one leg at a time.  Except once my pants are on, I make gold records.

I hope House comes back, like Brickowski stated,Eddie's pg skills did improve over this season. He also has proven he can step his game up in the playoffs, even after sitting most of the playoffs. He is battled tested, unlike a lot of other potential guys.

That was a garbage time play in the last minute, with the Lakers just waiting to be allowed to leave.  You want to see a real House PG play, watch the big 3rd quarter run in Game 4 for the pass he whipped into the lane for a Posey layup.  Now THAT was sweet.

Here is the break down on Eddie.
I sit behind his Dad and Wife during the game and they have stated that no one has offered Eddie a job for next year....yet.

Eddie has one of the quickest releases in the NBA and a great shooter, thus a good 2.  Decent defense, good passer and great hustle and emotion.

Only knock is his ability to drive to the hole for a layup or overall ball handling skills.  He is a spot up shooter, but one of the best.

I hope they sign him based on his skills and nature.  If you look at any Celtic's introduction, Eddie is at the end of the line either rolling dice with Paul, taking a jumper with Ray, or getting involved with each player as they are introduced just like James Posey gets them fired up with his hugs and words before tip off.

I wish him and his family the best as they are the best.

Gave you a TP for this post...its hard to replace hustle and emotion. Eddie brings a lot of that to the team.

Thanks for the TP.

I actually gave Eddie a birthday card, and he said thanks...

(The guy who sits next to me screams "Big Baby!" before every game and Big Baby signed his sneakers and gave them to him.

This team is a bunch of regular guys, and I hope winning the title doesn't change them, but I wouldn't blame them if it did.

Ive heard a few  stories from friends who go regular to games, with seats close enough to interact with players before the games start.I heard they all are good about giving fans a few words during warm ups.Im planning to attend a few regular season games this coming season.I live 2 1/2hours away at this time, but plan to be moving half the distance by the fall,so i hope to be able to attend some games.

actually thats not true. theres an article a while back during the 2nd or maybe 3rd round of the playoffs where tallen and house are quoted saying.. where are my minutes?! and being angry they weren't getting playing time.
