They just stated DA will be on the Big Show later today on WEEI 850am...i recently  found WEEI,around playoff time.Since the finals, they have brought on a different Celtic almost every day. They are a great source for Celtic basketball lately, for whats happening now.It also is  online live, airing from Brighton Ma.,for those who don't know about it being online free/live. ;D

Plus you can get WEEI streaming online, which is nice for those of us out of the 617 (and all the other area codes sprouting up)
Now, on to 18...

VERY lately Jay_Jay.  WEEI picked up the Celtics broadcasts this season and has had Cornbread on the "Big Show" in the afternoons, but they largely ignored this fantastic season of the Celtics.  Their excuse has always been that they just cover what the callers want to talk about.  Granted the Sox were in the World Series and the Pats in the Super Bowl, but long after the Super Bowl, the station obsessed with rehashing and mourning the Pats loss (and the whole Spygate thing) while the Celts continued rattling off wins.  It really wasn't until the Celtics were deep into the playoffs that they had taken up a decent chunk of the air time discussing them.  They had weekly interviews with Danny & Doc that have always been excellent, but really not a whole lot of talk besides that.  Honestly the Celts got more attention last year in the regular season than they did this year (the whole "tanking, go for Oden thing). I'm glad they're talking about the C's now, but for a station airing the team's games you'd think they'd have spent more time chatting about them.

I agree, 1510 the zone was awesome when they had Ryen Rusillo, who now works for ESPN - the show the Diehards, I think it was him, Kevin Winter and some dude with a funny name (nice guy actually) oh Peppy, that was it...anyways, they'd do tons of c's stuff and it was awesome - ah the good old days

The Diehards, lol, I remember them well.  It was the only local chat, cept for the great CelticsBlog.  A crappy low signal station headlined by a degenerative gambler.   WEEI ignored the Celtcs, cept during that 13 game win streak a few years back. Then, out of nowhere they show up and even did some on the court stuff. Of course, they disappeared and so did the talk shortly there after.    Think of all the Bruins talk on WEEI now, same as Celts in the past.  :P

The Diehards was a good listen. Rusillo carried that show though. Winter was slightly annoying but okay, and Anthony Pepe knew absolutely nothing. The more Jon Anik (now at ESPN also) the better off they were.

I agree that WEEI took too long to really start talkin about the Celts. It was always either the Red Sox or Pats talk. CBS 4 did the same thing for their sports final shows. The C's just never became a top topic until April-May. Hopefully after Banner 17 they will become more of a topic when they start up again in the fall.

I can remember c's fans being ridiculed for even trying to talk about the celtics back in the day on eei

Back in the day? Try last year :-\ For a station that claims to be the number 1 sports station in the nation (ratings) they are a complete joke and embarrasment to Celtic fans. People like Glen Ordway have been so negative towards the Celtics and thus to Celtics fans over the years, it has been unbelievable. Now they act like they have always been on board (what a laugh), but they are just as fake as the pink hatters are for the Sox. I don't even think there is even one "true" Celtic fan on that whole station :o
