Boy, that pick took awhile.

Giddens, huh?  Interesting.  I'm sure Doc will enjoy that headache...

Wow.

I am not surprised, because I had a feeling that Danny had a binky, but I am still shocked.

My thoughts.

I hope he's willing to play for free so we can sign Posey and House. Maybe it's a pick for someone else.

If we keep him that could be the end of Tony Allen

I have to assume he spends a good deal of time in the NBDL

Maybe someone else gets traded now like Pruitt

Also the Pistons just made a sweet trade.

  • The good ole days.
Ah DJ White. Great pick by Joe. He reminds me so much of Antonio McDyess (post injury). He'll be a very good rotation player for the Pistons for many many years. Very nice pick. I like it.

Well that's heading to Seattle now.

I think it is very possible to be TOO young in this league... and Seattle qualifies.

Oh my god what are you doing?

Anybody else think that happened because of a promise?

I like JR Giddens but there were some really nice names on the board there. I'd have been happier with CDR, Jordan, Chalmers. Still, he's good and I'm happy overall. Tad disappointed though.

Have to end the draft with John Riek now. We need a Center, badly, and will have to pay the MLE to get someone on the market otherwise.

What are the odds that we get another stabbing victim.  I think Pierce was an innocent victim who learned a lot from his situation.  Hopefully we can say the same about this kid down the line, not the type of character I want added to a championship mix though.  However that might change soon, J.R. meet Mister Kevin Garnett.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

From what i have read on giddens, he is insanely athletic and maybe the best athlete in the draft. He can rebound very well for a guard which is always a plus, he has what it takes to be a defensive stopper with his freakish athletic skills. He is an excellent and I mean excellent distributor even though he is not a PG. He can drive very well, his shot is sort of unorthodox, but he is very good off the dribble.

I just wish we took chalmers, because he can play lock down D and shoot the 3. I know we have pruitt but I feel that we were handed chalmers with his slippage and we passed on him. Could you imaging chalmers and rondo grabbin steals in the backcourt.

If not chalmers, then i wish CDR, but I guess if posey comes back then we dont have any need for CDR at SF.

Who knows maybe giddens is a pick for someone else.

I am THRILLED with the pick.  JR Giddens has lottery talent.  Assuming he has his head on straight (which he had this past year for Steve Alford), he will be a great player to spell Ray Allen for the C's.  I'm a New Mexico Lobo fan and he every bit the player that Danny Granger was.

You will all love him!

Hey Seattle made a pick I like. I don't know why but I get the feeling he's going to get lost in the shuffle up there. DJ should be good for Kevin, a better offensive version of Collison.

Mayo, Pekovic and Chalmers. Outstanding draft for Minny (if he's ready to pay big money to Pekovic in 3 years).

Where can I get footage from Giddens?

Well, Jordan was probably too much of a project, that they didnt want to deal with.  Chalmers just didn't fit (and I think Pruitt is better anyways), and on pure talent, Giddens is probably better than CDR.  The only question with Giddens is his attitude, but I trust the C's to have a good handle on that (Danny has plenty of moles in the MWC conference).
