Thanks PJ!! He certainly did help us get the banner.
How about Alonzo...what would he do for a shot at the title.  What a BEAST of a backup he'd make.  Always wanted him in green.

I certainly wouldn't mind Mourning; however, he already has a ring, so I'm not sure how desperate he is for another.

I am wondering if someone like Magliore or on a lesser note Kwame, would be willing to take vet minimum for a shot at a ring.

absolutely no way i want either of those in green.

Got anybody else that is
a) Available
b)Capable of being a back up center
c)would possibly take minimum to win a ring

How desperate might the Suns be to get out from under Shaq's contract?

Diop.  I'm not sure how much he would cost but he is great defensively.

Dallas is thinking full MLE, it'll be quite hard to get for us.

Ainge mentioned that PJ was leaning towards retiring, which sounds to me like it was up to PJ whether he wants to come back.  Sounds like Danny would re-sign him if he wants to play.  I bet that Danny and PJ have a deal that PJ will stay in shape and Danny will contact him to see if he wants to come back, if the Celtics still have the need.  PJ already said that if he played again, it would only be for the Celtics.

As long as they get someone decent with some size I'll be OK with it.  While I like Davis and Powe, they are undersized power forwards.  Now, Garnett's size makes that less of an issue (he's taller than many centers in the league), but I'd feel much better having a legit 7-footer to backup Perk.

Anyone know the status on Pollard?

I would rather take a young player over Pollard.  Even at the veteran minimum he is too expensive for the few games he would be healthy enough to play in.

I agree, I'd prefer other players, too.  However, if we burn the midlevel on Posey, we're not going to be in the running for players like Diop.  Obviously Danny liked him enough to sign him the first time.  Plus, he's familiar with the team and the playbook.  If nothing better comes along, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back.

Yeah, we need a replacement. Zo would be great, though I'm not sure he'd come and he always struck me as a total jerk anyway. Realistically, a guy like Theo Ratliff might be available, but his injury potential could be too much.
Go Celtics.

Everytime I hear Kwame's name being mentioned I get nauseous.

Any chance someone like KG could get him going?  I know it's getting late... but....
