But I wouldn't be so sure that Grant Hill won't opt out. He went to Phoenix to win a ring, and that's clearly not going to happen there and he does have a great relationship with Doc, I believe. He also had the Celtics on his Top-3 BEFORE the KG trade went through. Danny wanted him, and he liked Boston and now that we're the reigning NBA champs, he might want to jump aboard.

You're right that Hill in all likelihood won't win a ring in Phoenix, and if that's a priority, I could see him opting out.  However, Hill seems happy there, and most importantly, he's finally healthy.  The Suns medical staff is renowned for their techniques in keeping players healthy, and I'm not sure that Hill would walk away from that right now when he's the healthiest he's been since he left Detroit.

By the way, as mentioned, my scenario is totally off the wall.  However, is it that much more crazy than Igoudala taking the MLE from us, and Philly declining to match?  Jamison isn't coming here, but neither is AI2.

Have always liked Duhon; but can't say I know much about his defensive ability. Would have to be better than Cassell I would think. Plus he could run the offense better.

My Dream Team would be:
Resigning Posey and House
Signing jason williams, alonzo or kurt thomas
And keeping tony allen back in green
Then drafting bill walker, and i have no clue what to do with the #60

Re-signing Posey, House, and PJ Brown would all be adequate moves.

However, dream scenario takes that to a whole 'nother level.

There are so many sign and trade possibilities that could REALLY REALLY REALLY put this team over the top - let's hear them.

Personally, I don't have the time nor patience to sift through all the dream scenarios that one could think of in what I anticipate to be a crazy offseason.

It's a great time to be a Celtic fan....players we wiEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.lly dreamed about coming here over the years (vets primarily) who's skill set would accommodate the assets we have in place would have never given us a second though.  Now, with the core that is present here, a championship, the ownership group, and (begrudgingly  ;) ) Doc, I can easily see the Grant Hills, Alonzo Mournings, etc. sacrificing $$$$ to join in and participate in Ubuntu 2.

i've always wondered... what makes the sun's medical staff so [dang] good? if their techniques work so well, why isn't the rest of the league using them? hill would be pretty perfect for our team.

Why is everyone here bashing TA? I know he has been inconsistent because of injuries but he hasn't really gotten much of a chance this year. When he played, he played well. Amazing defense and brings energy off the bench. And anyways, we need money to re-sign Posey... which should be our TOP priority. We can keep TA for almost nothing and give him 10-15 quality minutes per game.

Also i think Mourning would be a great pickup to replace PJ if he retires again. We don't need another big cuz we have Powe and BBD. House is a great 2nd string PG, we needed his spacing to win a couple games in the finals. Go with what we have... it worked, didn't it?

Kurt Thomas would be perfect off the bench behind KG and Perk (then re-sign PJ at next year's All Star break).

If House gets a big offer somewhere else and decides to walk - Grant Hill would be pretty good in that role off the bench as well.  I'd love to get House back, though.

Priority #1 HAS to be re-signing Posey, however.  I don't think there's a free agent out there whose signing would help us more than Posey's walking would hurt.

Andre will get a near max contract from the 76ers and Artest wont be playing anywhere for the MLE as he has already been quoted saying. Sign Posey and House with the MLE and try and nab Diop with the LLE. Find a vet min point guard who can run and distribute...Let Cassell go to the Nuggets like he was interested in doing during this year finals, what a bonehead.

I'm hoping we don't need MLE for House. If we do, we won't get Posey back. Did House really raise his stock that much this year? He shot well for us, but he also was exposed repeatedly by the Pistons. He also is very vocal about wanting to stay.

I also don't see a young player like Delonte who started in the playoffs signing for the LLE.

I like the Grant Hill idea. That would be a great pickup. I would also love Kurt Thomas, but is that financially realistic? If we lost Posey, Hill & Thomas would be interesting.

We might be really old this upcoming season.

I think that we all saw that defense wins championships.  When we brought in Sammy everyone thought that he was going to be better than he was.  The reason he didn't fit in wasn't because his shots weren't falling, it's because he wasn't as good defensively as he had to be.  We need to sign defensive players.

For me that means Diop over Kurt Thomas.  I'd rather have a shot blocker down low than another position defense guy.  We already have Leon and Baby for that.

Obviously try to get Eddie and Posey, but it's been mentioned that those guys haven't really had big paydays yet so they'll probably go where the money is, which might not be here.  Which is extremely sad because they were such huge pieces of this year's team.  Posey gets the credit he deserves but I really think a lot of people overlook what Eddie has done.  His heart and attitude has been amazing.

I think a real "dream scenario" would be to get an All Star who just wants to win a title.  Imagine Elton Brand, Jermaine O'Neal or Gilbert Arenas coming here for next to nothing on top of keeping House and Posey?  That would be the dream.

Since we are floating dream scenarios for the off season here is mine.

Brand and Maggette stay in their contracts on the condition they are traded to the Celtics who oblige by sending Ray Allen, Scalabrine, Davis, and 2008 first (have to keep it somewhat realistic)to the Clippers

Posey agrees to accept non-Bird rights contract

T.Allen agrees to reasonable 3 year, 9 million contract

Brown re-ups for the veteran minimum

G.Hill chasing the title comes to the C's for the veteran minimum

C's sign Toine to a veteran minimum contract so he can have a last hurrah and retire a Celtic

House re-signs for the LLE

C's do not use the MLE, and instead use that money to purchase two first round draft picks in the mid-20's.  The first is to be used on a European big man who they will keep overseas a year or two (Ajinca, Tomic, etc.), the second should be used to take a flyer on N.Batim or B.Walker, whomever is available

Starting Lineup
KG, Brand, Pierce, Maggette, Rondo

Bench
Perkins, Brown, Powe, Posey, G. Hill, T.Allen, House

Deep Bench
Pruitt, Toine, Batim/B.Walker
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards -

I like the dream scenario Moranis, but 3 years, $9 million is more than we'd even have to pay to keep TA.
Go Celtics.
