Possible Pick at #30? DeAndre Jordan

With his lack of polish, its possible that he may fall to us at 30. His 7'6 wingspan and 6'11 body would be a great addition to our team, and Clfford Ray could teach him some post moves. He's got great potential, and could fill PJ's role as an interior defender and rebounder.

If Danny is going to take a project big man (which I am not opposed to) He needs to try and get Portland to trade the 33 and 36 for the 30 and draft 2 to see which one works out better.

Jordan will not help for at least a year and more likely 2. What he does have going for him is major athleticism and length, which I think most would agree that we need. also going for him is the fact he is a smart kid and carried a 4.0 through HS. I am not opposed to drafting him, but I believe he is a bit of a stretch at 30 and would like to see who else drops.

I don't understand why Jordan is falling. I think everyone is getting over the top about how he's doing in workouts and I don't understand why. Everyone knew he's raw and a long term work in progress project.

I think he'll go in the top half of the first round in the end and even if he doesn't I can't imagine him falling as far #30. If he did he's a must pick. The sheer potential from a guy his size is beyond that of anyone else in that range. Definitely worth a swing with the 30th pick, heck he's worth a shot with 10-15 pick.

Amen, Who.  I'd be very surprised to see this guy drop out of the top 15 -- we're talking about someone here who was in the top three to five in the middle of the season, and as Who states, this was all based on long-term progress potential.

I had the opportunity to see Jordan play in person this year, and Who's term is absolutely right: raw.  The way this league works, his sheer physique will make him worth a shot for someone by the late lottery (and possibly earlier), but his basketball skills still have plenty of room to develop.

For a team with a top pick, I'm not super-high on him, but at 30?  I'd take him in an instant.  I just can't see him being there.

Also, for what it's worth, Draftnet has him checking in at 13.  Personally, I'm not sure what the fit is for Portland (don't they have another rookie center of sorts?)...but the range in the draft seems about right.

What mocks are you talking about? NBAdraft.net has him at 13, hoopshype has him at 19, I don't know where Redz dad has him...draftexpress has him at 19...insidehoops has him at 10... chad ford has him at 14... sporting news has him at 10, haven't seen one with mid 30s to low 40s by a professional...so to say most mocks have him there is not just misleading, but its factually wrong

lol if the Nets don't take Jordan I would be absolutely shocked. I think JaVale McGee has a better chance of slipping, but neither will be there at 30 for the Celtics.

If we're LUCKY we're looking at Jason Thompson, JJ Hickson, Gary Forbes, or maybe Ryan Anderson. A couple nice players there, but it's unlikely we'll be able to get someone with the combination of size and potential like DeAndre Jordan.

Although it would be nice to say "lol Andrew Bynum who?"
