Thrilled we won it all. Thrilled for our guys, and they are all pretty much good guys to boot.

But, I am sad this season is over.

I know we just won it all about 48 hrs ago, but I can't wait for next season to start.

It is a little sad, but that's why they make championship DVDs!
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

I completely agree.  The Sox aren't going to come close to being able to fill the gap for me.  I haven't been able to watch a full game during our days off and I don't think I'll be able to for awhile.

Football won't be able to do it for me right away either.

What I'm going to do is embrace the offseason.  This is the gift that keeps on giving.  Today's parade, Sox honoring them tomorrow, and hey, the draft is next week.  That is unreal.  I can't wait to see how the other teams jockey to try to get a team that can't beat the champs.  There are also some questions that need to be answered with our roster, we can all follow those quickly.

Luckily it's going to be one of the shortest offseasons in Celtics history, so next year isn't far away at all.  I am already getting goosebumps thinking about the scene in the Garden on opening night next season.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I hear ya.  I didn't expect it but coming home from the parade, I am a little sad.  Life has been going to ball games and watching away games almost every 2 days for months now. I am watching a NBA TV replay atm...

I'm happy like everyone else, but sad not because the season is over (don't worry...it will be back before you realize), rather I lost a large part of my life when they won. The Celtics last won in '86 when I was a little goober of 3 3/4 years old. For the rest of my life, the Celtics always had 16 championships and it was always about Bird et al. rather the team of the present. Now, things are different. They have 17 championships and we can look at the current team with the same pride and satisfaction that we can with the teams of the 80s. It feels weird. The 22 year period of my life where they didn't win is different from my life over the last 2 days. I'm not against change, but it'll take some time to get used to this new feeling. I think I need to talk to my therapist.

The Draft is next week then we can probably watch summer league games on NBA TV plus I'm sure there will be Celtics re-runs on CSN till training camp starts.  And the 08-09 roster debates have already begun here....

This stuff won't go away easily...... ;)

I feel exactly the same way.  After following them through 66 wins...and then going through the playoffs and playing so many games (the playoffs seemed like a complete season in itself)...then get down to the finals I feel a bit meloncholy!  I just don't want this season to end.  It was so special.

I'm from Maryland and i've been a Celtics fan my whole life.  I really was starting to believe that i would never see another championship season.  After all the bad luck that we've been through over the past 21 seasons...losing Bias, losing Reggie Lewis...hell, losing Red...i really thought we were cursed.  This is most special thing i have experienced out of all of my favorite sports teams.  I'll be the first to admit that i wanted Doc Rivers out as coach.  You always want to blame somebody for the way the team performs...Doc was the scapegoat.  But, i feel like i know Doc...what a class guy.  I mean even when we lose he always has the classiest things to say about the opposition.  Unlike Phil Jackson who will blame everybody else for the loss...Doc recognizes and praises the other team.

I got the NBA ticket last year when the C's had 24 wins.  I switched from Direct TV over to Verizon FIOS right after that.  I was kicking myself throughout the NBA regular season for not sticking with DirectTV.  Well, i switched back to Direct TV and i can't wait for the 2008-2009 season!!!!

...sorry for the rambling...

Woo Hoo bring on the Gerald Green threads!  Oh wait, they're already here.  What do we do now?

TP Arguments!  YES! ::)

Seriously this year will never be matched in terms of anticipated events.  It was unbelievable how for every day since last summer it seemed there was something else to get excited about.

I'm right there with ya.

It's a bit depressing dealing with the fact that we've suffered for so long with this Organization and now they've finally made it 'Back to the Top' and the suffering is gone.  That and trying to make everyone believe what I believed about this team since October and then it coming true... There's something missing.  I know I should be happy but for some reason I'm sad. It all went by so fast.  Oh well life goes on and the C's will as well.  Soon enough the leaves will be turning brown and training camp will start and then we'll be thinking about a Repeat.

Pierce drives, draws, and dishes to KG for his pattened 15 ft jumper..

Rondo rebounds motors up court and finds Ray for open 3.. splash.

Sweet music to my ears.

Me too.

In the 2nd half of last game it crossed my mind : "no more Celtics for a couple of months. I better enjoy it while I still can."

It's just been such a magical season. We were there for it.

We'll be able to tell future generations all about how the Celtics returned to glorious pastures.

I don't want to get a head of myself, but I don't see why we can't win it all next year or the year after that.
