They got what they deserved. They thought they were all world, but brought that weak-sauce brand of basketball into the Garden and got smacked.

LA is the team of excuses. This team actually blamed Pierce's "fake" injury for game 1. Shouldn't having Paul off the court for critical minutes and limping around on the court in the 4th be an advantage to LA, even if he were faking?

They blamed the rims. They blamed the refs. Sasha even blamed the refs for getting his ankles broken.

RE: Garnett and Odom. I was happy to see it. Garnett did the same face that Odom did when Perk got hurt. I thought it was called for, and I think the message was received loud and clear.

Laker fans, basketball is a team sport, and when your team doesn't give their 100% effort, why blame the opposing team for being disrespectful for kicking your team in the ***?

Blowout was much deserved.

Maybe they could have called it at the half under a mercy rule like in little league.

I agree with SShoreFan that KG went overboard with the Odom thing late. However Odom hit more than Ray Allen in the face on jumpers so it is part of his technique (I was watching closely later when I saw him do it again to someone else). So he might deserve a bit of putdown.
However the disrespect for game that the Lakers showed was horrible. I am going to refer to it like I did in my column for a web magazine and call it the Wizard of OZ effect-need a heart, brain and some courage. http://www.forthepeople-bythepeople.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=160&Itemid=1

The lack of teamwork by the Lakers was simply astounding. How a team could have that much talent and play so disjointed shows disrepect to their fans and the games. They should have been a major threat in every game and they weren't. They have some major lockerrroom and trust issues. I can't believe they are brain dead.

The Lakers fans need to just be quite and wade in their pool of melancholy. The NBA is a professional sports association not high school or childrens league. These men are paid to score and win games. On the reverse end, they are also paid to play defense and keep opposing teams from scoring. If they wanted to keep the score close they should of kept playing instead of giving up in the third. All you Lakers fans who feel disrespected, point your fingers at your team. They were responsible. They let you down. Goooo Celtics! Thanks for solidifying Boston and New England as a "Title Town".

Bottom line. The Lakers - by their play - showed they had no respect for themselves. Why should anyone respect them, let alone the Celtics?

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

BTW, LOL @ the "heavy favorite" cocky Lakers begging for mercy by the time the series ends.

That team rolled over in the 2nd half.  Celtics just played their game and LA just gave up.  That's how things got out of hand.

Lakers showed no pride in the 2nd half.

The only thing disrespectful is how that Lakers team treated their fans last night.

Seems to me that the Lakers had been able to go on major scoring runs this series and put Boston in bad spots before. The Celtics did almost lose Game 2 while leading 95-71 with 7:55 left in the game. Final 108-102.

In Game 4, the Tornadic Comeback, Boston was down 45-21 at one time before showing up.

In Game 5, The Lakers gained 19 and 14 point leads...

Tonight, Kobe flashed early with his three pointers before KG and the Celtics applied themselves.

Maybe the Lakers and their fans need to go take a look in the mirror and see who is disrespectful. The Lakers would have lost by thirty even if there were 6 refs making calls for them last night.
Wins are few, times are hard. Here is your bleeping St Patricks Day Card.

The Lakers were disrespectful to their own fans, and the game of basketball with that performance.  I have never seen a team lay down as thoroughly as they did.  Pitiful.

Why are we even concerned with them any more?  There are no more opponents.  They're the same as the Hawks, Cavs, Pistons and the rest of the NBA, just vanquished foes.

Celts are the last left standing.  Who cares about the whining nincompoops?
Yup

So now it's our job to play defense for them?

That's just sad.

Those Lakers fans need to have some pride and shut up.

Don't blame the Celtics for playing 48 minutes, blame the Lakers for not doing the same.

Please, do not downgrade the proud Atlanta Hawks franchise.

They were a worthy opponent, at least...
