Great ending to a great season.  I am blessed to have been able to be there to witness it all.

With this season behind us, there's only one thing to talk about - the future.

We all saw Pierce's injury. I for one am surprised at just how effective he was after Game 1.

Do you guys think he will need surgery?  And if so, do you think he will be able to rebound (not literally) and perform as he was all this year?  Why or or why not?

Keep in mind Ray's post-surgery struggles for the second half of the year until the 2nd half of the 3rd round of the playoffs.  It is no small issue.  Maybe Ed Lacerte will put a leg sleeve on Pierce right away this time around.

Surgery of any kind is no joke and is tough to recuperate from.  I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer, but to me, Pierce, although effective (and still the Truth) lacked some of his explosiveness (as far as his explosiveness goes) in going to the basket in this series.  I do distinctly remember him falling awkwardly, albeit not in pain, several times in the past few games in the Finals.  This worries me as to his longevity as an NBA player.

Knee injuries are absolutely nothing to mess around with, and I give him all the credit in the world for toughing it out and closing out this series.

I'm still very concerned about his health, short and long term.

Without bashing, how do you feel?  Do you think Pierce is severely hurt?  Regardless, do you think he can continue being an NBA Finals MVP caliber player?
God bless and good night!
