Pretty decent article about Pierce being the longest standing current Boston sport figure, but the one people forget to mention when talking about the great ones.

It’s something, how much luck we needed just to have him in this moment.  To have him slip to us at #8 in the draft, to have him largely unhurt when a nobody thug tries to stab him to death just for the hell of it and to keep him throughout that last, horrible year last season.  To win a title tonight, it being his as much as anyone else’s, it would be the perfect capper.   8)
