I know that Rondo is a complete liability right now on offense but I think that Doc has to have more confidence in him and let him play through it.  I also think that it is Doc's fault that he isn't taking advantage of the way that Kobe is playing Rondo.  Instead of Rondo fading into the corner every time for a shot he isn't that confident taking, why doesn't he cut and try to find spots underneath the basket for layups and his patented floater shot from the elbow.  The other guys on the court, especially Garnett when he gets doubled on the block, need to find Rondo immediately and make Kobe start respecting Rondo.  I know that this will do little to stretch the court but I think there has to be a better way to capitalize on the huge advantage the Lakers are throwing our way.

Rondo will probably do that at home.  He's a young player and doesn't play well on the road.

I don't mean to be disagreeable, and I really do not have anything against Rondo.  Maybe that would work during a regular season game.  This is for the Championship though, which is more important than one project PG.  I say bench the guy if it increases our chances of winning.  And then maybe we can give him more room once the season starts next year.

I think both Rondo and KG will have big games on Tuesday, and these discussions will take care of themselves. Rage just needs Doc to tell him to be more aggressive ... in Ticket's case, he already knows it.

I have to agree with Barnabas.  Now is not the time to be working on boosting Rondo's confidence. Now is the time to win at all costs. This isn't the local YMCA league. Maybe Rondo will develop some offense in the off-season but his presence on the floor right now is disastrous to us at that end.  Not only can he not make his shots (there is not a single other starting pg in the league that turns down free 16 footers!) but the fact that he's out there allows Kobe to play a one man zone right in the middle of the lane. Even if Sam and House aren't making shots, at least the Lakers have to cover them. Playing with Rondo equates to 4 on 5 at the offensive end.
