Sam was decent tonight. I wouldn't say he was great, but he didn't hurt us. House was every bit as good however with much better defense. Let's not forget the first play Sam was in there the PG (Farmar I believe) blew past him and scored down the middle. When he laid it in Sam was still at the foul line. House was all over his man.

TA on the other hand surprised me. He looked much better than I thought he would after all that bench time. He actually added value to the team while in there and didn't kill us with his usual turnovers. I'll give him props for that one game.

I disagree that House was every-bit as good.  I think House had a very bad game (although perhaps I was just expecting too much from him after game 4).  He got burned on numerous occasions by Farmar (who Cassell did a very solid job on, surprisingly), and made some dumb decisions on offense.

I don't think Cassell was great...but I think he was a little better than House last night.

I think by playing Tony last night means he's in Aingt'e plans for next year on cheap, a la Perkins.

I think the two things are completely separate.

I think Tony will be here if there are no trades for him, and he takes the qualifying offer.  If another team makes an offer, I have a feeling he will be gone.

Let me add that I am not a big fan of Cassell on the floor over House. He has been much better lately in looking to get people involved as a PG should rather than shoot, however.

I'd hear ya on this. That being said Sam did have a solid game and didn't force any of his shots. TA played well too. We really don't need a solid PG against this team. They don't pressure the ball. PP, RA, TA, and House have all brought the ball up without a problem.

We lost the game.  Sam still sucks until proven otherwise in a victory.  I still say he's severely washed up and this season can't end soon enough.  Our point guard situation has been exposed.  :-P

Are we dismissing the times they blew past Sam? It was more than that initial play. I know House got beat on 2 plays, but no different than Sam. I said neither was great, but they both played "okay". I'll take House's upside anyday. That was as good as Sam can play for us. Not good enough.

S. Cassell 18:00    4-8 +23      1T.O.   2Asst   9
E. House    13:38 2-5 -7         1   2   6
T. Allen    10:59   3-4   +6   0   0      6

Obviously, both Sam and Tony had exceptional contrubutions deserving of the OPs suggestion, Kudos to them both ;)

Cassel haters acknowledged  ;)
