I think BBD would kill the Lakers on the boards if he got in the game.

While I have been a big advocate of Powe getting more minutes and criticized Doc for not giving him more, this is *not* the way it should happen, both because it sucks for Perkins and because who knows if Powe is ready.

I wonder if Powe is starting over PJ because Doc wants to make sure PJ is fresh for the second half?  Thoughts?

You know what this means though...Scal's dressin!

What is he, blue cheese? ahahahaha

It was mentioned yesterday (by the man himself) but I say start Redz. I want to hear him give a shout out to this board in his post game interview.  ;D

I love the idea of Powe starting rather than PJ.  Powe is much more dangerous when he is playing with starters, because he can take advantage of being ignored more than any other big man on this team.

It also keeps PJ coming off the bench, so that he will be able to cover Gasol when Garnett is resting.

Not surprising.  It's a shoulder injury, he should be out 'til next season.

I am also concerned with PP re-injuring his knee. I hope we close it tonight.

Anyone saying we have this series wrapped up is being VERY naive. We're a loss today and a Pierce knee tweak away from having OUR backs against the walls. End this tonite!

I might of gone with Posey but either way Doc just needs to tell KG to look at who he's gonna be guarding if he plays center and then tell him to suck it the hell up.

It's Pau Gasol, KG... I think you can play center against Pau freakin Gasol.

I think Doc is comfortable with having Posey and Brown coming from the bench and he doesn't want to change that. Powe's minutes are not consistent and he normally adds energy when Perk is not there..it makes sense

Really glad, (and surprised), that Powe is starting ... maybe we'll get a spark from the get-go!

That's right. Also, the lakers are going to be desperate, we can't let any of our guys get tricked into being ejected tonight, it could cost us the game and even the next game. I am a bit worried of a possible ejection.

They need Posey coming off the bench on the wing.  He will play a lot of minutes at the 4 I think, but they have more control with him coming off the bench.

As far as Garnett complaining...well, I highly doubt a complaint about playing center ever crossed his mind at this point.  I think Doc could put him on the PG right now, and if he told KG it will give them the best chance to win, all KG would say would be "Yes Sir" (well, he would probably throw in a couple F bombs and a chest bump...but thats just KG).

Probably right about all of that, but man now that I think about it our starting lineup is pretty flawed. I don't think we should go into too many more games starting both Rondo and Perkins. We need a center who can hit a shot beyond 4 feet. I like Perk, but I think he should come off the bench.

A little stronger on offense and a little weaker on defense with Powe instead of Perk.  Starting Powe could be a plus IF he stays out of early foul trouble and if he handles Odom -- which I believe he can (though I think Odom will look to be aggressive with Leon which could lead to early fouls).

KG can handle Gasol on both ends.

Break 'em early (Leon energy!) and don't let up.  Like everyone, I want this over tonight.  The injuries make me nervous.

This is the best news I've heard all season.
God bless and good night!
