I found this little piece on a Lakers blog:
"... in the last nearly six decades of professional bouncing basketballs, the Lakers have played in the league Finals eight times during presidential election years.
This year is No. 9.
The article goes on to say that the Lakers won 5 out 8 times during an election year.
I think they might have better luck praying to JoBoo from Major League

The Lakers might have to sacrifice a live chicken to get them out of their slump.

Yup
Celts are 5-0 in election years
1960,1964,1968 (beat LA),1976,1984 (beat LA)
Once again proving the Celtics franchise is superior to the Lakers in all facets.
