Good luck to you all watching the game, don't sweat it too much! I expect Odom and Gasol to be almost nonexistent in the flow of the game.

Slightly OT, but I love that Bird is drinking Miller Lite, whereas everyone else goes for the champagne!  (I am willing to bet DJ has a bottle of the bubbly in his left hand)

Back on topic, my attempts at a lucky charm are that I invited my good friend from Minnesota, also a huge KG fan, over to the house for the game Sunday night.  He is convinced KG will have a huge game to quiet the doubters and haters...

Kobe: "it ain't over" (AP news story courtesy yahoo: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/preview;_ylt=AuYH9kvjjuuLVja5HfhhonI5nYcB?gid=2008061513&prov=ap )

Part way down the article says that Kobe is the game's "most unstoppable force".  A sentence later it says, and I am not kidding: "The Black Mamba is as cold-blooded as ever."

Is the national media kidding me?  I stopped reading right then and there.

These three have been my favorite players from day one.  All are hard workers and Powe and Perk especially have overcome a lot to get here.  They have indeed all three come up big in these playoffs.

does anyone expect this series to end tonight? i mean, in lieu of the recent donaghy revelations that say the league would interfere with a highly publicized series to possibly extend it ie '02 Lakers- Kings. not to sound like a conspiracy theorist (although i can't help but), but this is david stern's dream come true. everyone's been waiting for this series for two decades. for it to end in 5 would be sort of anti-climactic, wouldn't it? would anyone be surprised if the bulk of the 50-50 calls go to LA? on the other hand though, because the donaghy scandal is still fresh in the memory, is the league willing to do such a thing (if it ever does or did) and further fuel the negative publicity it's receiving? will they just call it as honestly as possible in order to distance themselves from any more scrutiny? anyway, i've already confused myself with this post. comprehend if you can.

I WAS just going to be late for work tonight ( I go in at 10pm CST) however thanks to the most evil satanic force on the planet...my boss...who is ungrateful for everyone and everything I will be calling in sick. IF there is a Game 6 I will call in for that. If there is a game 7 I will call in for that.
I've waited near my whole life for this I ain't missing it.

They've messed with the wrong Irish Redhead this time.

The Celtics can overcome bad officiating and still win.  They did it in game 6 of the ECF (remember Pierce's 4 point play turned into an offensive foul?)   If they play for 48 minutes, which they haven't done in this series yet, they will win regardless.

That being said,  I believe that with the feds looking on, the refs are going to try to call it fair.  Yes, the 50-50 calls will probably go to the home team.  But if everything else is called even, the Celtics will win or lose it on their effort and their defense and not anything to do with Stern or the refs.
