On the inbound play i don't know what it was but pierce started to yap with kobe and even the ref had to be like shut up and inbound the ball.

also i think out of any sport the nba players are too "pal" like with the opposing players. What is with kg patting kobe on the back at one instance?? I'am not saying curse opposing players or try to hurt them but in hockey nor football before a series is over you don't see them giving opposing players high five and wishing them a good game or series.

I also don't like seeing kg, pierce and other players(practically everyone in the nba) giving high 5's before a game. Good sportsmanlike?? yes but it kills that competition atmosphere

just play the game, shut up, no high fives or have a great game crap , try to win and after the series is over thank you for the challenge

I see what you're saying, but I don't think you need to worry about the competitive spirit of any of our players.

Yeah... Let the players hate each other and teach kids that sports isnt fun and winning is everything. Thats a great message to send to the fan nation... ::)

So you dont like players shaking hands before the game and you want players to play like they dont like each other, but you want pierce and kobe to stop yaping at each other?

Also football players tend to slap the ass of opposing players and help each other up after a play

The days of guys hating each other because of their uniform are over.  The idealistic gladiator competitions are largely unseen.
Yup

That's a well-earned TP right there.
Thanks!

hobbs you remember back in the 70's and even the 80's there was none of this high five crap for example. Alot of trash talking for example bird was one kocky son of a gun. But that was better to see than now with players smiling at each, oh that was a great shot, nice effort etc

Also your home team fans don't really care to see pierce and kg high fiving kobe, i mean we really dislike the whinner. Well i really do

You know what? PP did an excellent job game 3 of not getting frustrated, just don't get friendly with the snake "Kobe". I would never trust Kobe or anything he says.

yea i hate to snap the whole bubble redz started to pop, but kobe and pierce are pretty good friends from what i hear. They play pickup all summer and are at least marginal aquatinces.

as much as we want to think players hate the other team as much as we do, its not true.

case in point, brady and manning are supposely real close, and not to shock the heck out of people but most of the red sox and yankees players don't hate each otehr :o :o

Not real concerned with paul sayign something to kobe for 3 seconds. more concerned with rondo needing x rays and writing on his blog he's having trouble with lateral movement.

I actually thought that play worked tremendously for the Celtics. Pierce just played decoy and kept Kobe glued to his hip, letting KG run in for an uncontested dunk when Kobe was probably supposed to be the guy in place for help defense.

I only wish he would have been in decoy mode earlier, taking Kobe out of the Lakers' defense and letting Allen and KG get more open shots in the final three minutes.
Go Celtics.

They may be rivals...

But they still have the same job title, employee (player) in the NBA, they are co-workers...

Screw that though, its the finals, start throwing punches at each other already

i'm gonna guess they weren't saying very nice things to each other anyway, in which case i'd LIKE for paul to be talking. perhaps his best attribute is the passion he has, and when he gets a fire lit under him, he's near unstoppable.

I saw the yapping last nite.I don't mind it I think it's part of the gamesmenship.I think (and everybody knows it)If Pierce had a decent game last nite Lakers lose and I think Paul was just reminding Kobe of that. But I also believe ther should be a fine line when playing in the playoffs against other teams. For instance Wallace and KG hugging at the end of every game was ridiculous. Go out to dinner after the series is over or something so you don't have to totally hate your opponent but some dislike is ok just don't get too mushy.

triboy - i agree and i like your old-school attitude.

russell & wilt were friends off the court as well.
they didn't yuck it up in the middle of a game.

bird & magic were friends, sorta.
they touched fists out of respect and then played ball - no yakking & smiling.

i remember a quote back in the 70's from paul silas .....
"we don't help guys on the other team up off the floor because we look at them as the enemy."

unfortuanately, that type of perspective is out of vogue these days.
it's all about acting coooooooool and being $$$millionaire bruthas.

if you were paying attention at all, Pierce and Kobe are friends. They were playing pick up ball at UCLA during the off season, joking about who is going to be traded first. So therefore, they are both competetive and didnt mean any harm. Thats why neither got T'd up. Pierce even gave Kobe a pat on the back at the final buzzer. Most ballers in this league are friends.
After all that went wrong last night, this is what your worried about? this is nothing
