Just a thought. It seems to me like paul began to loose a step after he took that spill early in the game when he wound up about 10 rows back in the crowd. Anyone else think this could be the reason for his poor performance?

That is also what I thought watching him. He looked slow, and tentative. Jackson attributed it to Kobe's defense, which could have been a factor. But Kobe also spent alot of time covering Rondo. Plus Paul normally can get off against Kobe.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
he's fine...i'm thinking foul trouble made him look slow and tentative.

pierce was unable to take advantage of a mis-match he had on jordan farmar (offensive foul) and looked slower than radmanovic to being with.

i'm not one for making excuses, but it sure seemed as though his knee was more than bothering him.

Pierce beat his man whenever he attacked him off the dribble. Three times he drove on Radmanovic, two were layups the other was a foul on the Rad-man.

His knee is fine. His head is messed up.

More understanding and focus on how and where to attack (drive relentlessly) and he performs at a high level. Other than that he just had a bad jump shooting night.

I think Pierce's problems last night are more related to his foul troubles. He just couldn't get the rythm.  His knee is fine.
#18 is coming...

I'm just watching last night's game.

I know this is Pierce usual style of play, but he was sooo static last game.

Just standing and watching.

He usually isn't quick, but he was moving with ball like he was carrying 100 kilos on his back.

I don't know, he said his knee is fine, but did stretch his leg few times.

I know his desire to help team whenever he can, but really if you can't play, because of an injury, then sit down and say it to the coach. Other way you are just hurting your team.

He wasn't hobbling, he just played poorly.  These things happen.

I disagree - I too share the opinion of the OP that he aggravated his injury early, when KP43 aka the Big Oaf threw an outlet pass into the 3rd row on the opposite baseline.  Pierce pushed off his bad leg as he tried to speed up to save the ball and clearly grimaced trying to accelerate.  The spill over the old guy next to David Beckham couldn't have helped either.

But like everyone's been saying - let's see what happens tomorrow.
God bless and good night!

He could get by his man, but his finishing reminded me of his play in Atlanta after that hard foul in game 3. Let's hope it's nothing.

Lets not take the Lakers approach and make excuses as to way the Cs lost and as to way Paul Pierce played so bad.  Paul just had in off night, he was due to have one off night.

Hope not. Could be lots of reasons for a bad game. Fortunately, he only has three or four bad games a year and usually bounces right back. If he is hurt seriously, C's are in trouble, but still could beat the Lakers even without PP. But it sure wouldn't be easy. We'd just have to im-POWE-vise.

I hope you're right.

But driving past Radmanovic isn't the toughest thing to do. He's the worst defensive player in the whole series.

He'd foul out in a half if Phil kept him in the game.
