NBA Matchup pick the Lakers on Game 2 - for the wrong reasons?

Just watched NBA Matchup show on NBATV.  Tim Legler and Greg Anthony were guest at the show today.  As most of you know, TLegler is the only "expert" outhere picking the Cs to win the series...and GAnthpny is still on the fence.

Anyways, when asked who will win Game 2, both picked the Lakers but in my opinion for the wrong reasons. 1)Kobe will not miss the bonies and 2)Gasol will toughen up. 

I was wondering if they'd ever bring up the injuries on PP and KP.  They briefly did but brushed it off saying they are both expected to play.....I was sitting and wondering - like Manu was expected to play but was horribly innefective?

Needless to say I was dissapointed - not because they picked the Lakers, but because their indiference towards our injured players.

To put it all in perspective, the one thing we had going for us, appart from our defense, is inside toughness(KP) and the Lakers inability to guard Pierce.  Well, we have injuries on both fronts....but yet, if the Lakers win, all the credit will go to Kobe?

Kobe could go 0 for 25 and if the Lakers win he will get all the credit and publicity for playing great defense and getting his teammates involved. Do either of these two statements sound familiar? They should! They are used every single time by a play by play announcer or analyst whenever Kobe isn't scoring big.

I take exception with their reasoning and expectations, ergo their prediction as well.

Firstly, Paus game. Playing out of position against a wide body hulk/banger frome the east style of season long play. Pau is a finness shooter who is going to be somewhat easily boxed out sustaining bruises for otherwise trying against his lanky frame. Odem also has been beaten up and off the boards enough so that he isn't at practice, and this is after 1 game. At least pau has scored in the neighborhood of his average in the first game @ 15 vs avg of 19. No, what hurt them IMO was trying to play tough which they aren't seasoned at doing and therefore getting into foul trouble earlier than is comfortable to line change their bench, needing to break them up in substitions which was a further drop off in those matchups .

Granted Koby(SP;) ) should not have four games in a row against the Celtics where he shoots 35%, however that in fact is his average against these Celtics. Quite unlike MIKE and against all MSM predictions, so in their self supporting logic he is due to shoot better. Mike would, and that's another fallacy too, I watched Mike against those defences of the era, and Koby(SP ) is NO Mike Jordan yet we play closely like those better defences of the Jordan era...

Yep.  Poor reasoning for a poor choice.  The Lakers get crushed.
