Most wins, there is usually one of the three that steps up big and one roll player that plays a big roll.

Who do you think will be the star, and who do you think will be the big roll player?

(2 votes.  Please use one for the 3 stars KG/Pierce/Ray and one for the roll players)

Ray will have a big game tonight. He's really feeling his shot, they're doing a good job involving him in the offense. He's moving good, Sasha can't keep up with him. I say he has a big game.

We've been mesmerized by Paul Pierce, but we're also forgetting the 3 for 5 second half Ray Allen had with 13 points. That's quite productive. Though it would've been nice to have him shoot a bit more, especially when Garnett was missing his.

Perk is a game time decision, so if he doesn't start then one of our big guys will have to step up.  My guess is PJ because of how well he has played in his limited minutes thus far in the series.  Though they may be forced to put KG on the block and play Powe significant minutes is PJs age catches up to him and he cant play more than 15 or 20 minutes.

I have to go with KG as the star.  He and Pierce are the two hardest matchups.  But with the unknown of Pierce, this is KG's game to win.  ANd I have no doubt that he is more then ready to win it.

I picked Rondo as the step up roll player.  I think with Pierce possible limited with his ability to drive, Rondo's ability to get into the paint and create (kick out) will be big tonight.

I've been disappointed in Ray most of this season but I agree he had a very good last game.
He's going to need to keep it up.
Still, I think KG will be the guy tonight and Powe the surprise.

I didn't count rondo as surprise player since our 2nd year pg could be in the running for finals mvp after his game 1 all around job.  Leon got the vote there...if perk played like the end of detroit series easily to him.  But with his ankle? Posey is steady but in this series Powe (or if he gets in, house) can really help us.
Star I went w/ KG, ray did a great defense and offensive job last game but I think matchup wise LA has NO ONE who can stay with KG.  Give him a few breathers and keep hammering it to the post.
Again we win game 2, LA and their "leader" can fold easy (fisher is aok in my bk)

What are you smoking?  Finals MVP?  He played Fisher to a statistical dead heat. While everyone and their brother was talking about how Rondo would run circles around the old guy it not only never happened, Rondo couldn't keep Fisher in front of him.
We're going to need better from Rondo going forward and I think he'd be the first one to admit that.

  • The good ole days.
KG has a history of big time performances in Game 2s.  He is usually a little jittery in Game 1.  Off the top of my head.....  20-20-10 triple double against Denver in Game 2 of 2004 Round 1.  32-20 performance in Game 2 against Lakers in Game 2 of 2003 round 1, and two fairly big 20-10 double-doubles in the Game 2s against Sac and LAL in 2004 2nd and 3rd rounds.

"It ain't about me.  It's about us."  - KG, interview with John Thompson, 2005 All Star Game.

Pierce will be the star and the eventual MVP of the Finals.

Scalibrine will get some playing time with Perk needing extra rest for his ankle.

Prediction: Scal hits some big three's and makes at least 3 crafty passes for an assist.

My Powe pick is looking pretty strong, but can I change my star pick to PP? ;D
