That was kind of an ugly win... but I'll certainly take it!

No more small ball in this series, please.

It's looking grim for "Lakers in five." predictions.

Interesting finish

I wouldn't read too much into it. The Lakers played desperate ball. Celtics didn't play with their brains attached. It won't leak into the next game and it isn't a sign of LA's potential. Fair play to them for making the run though.

Freakish 3's by the Lakers made it interesting, but really a beautiful game by the C's.

I hate small ball!!!

It happens everytime Doc uses that lineup. Was Powe playing bad?

Yeah, this is why people get down on Doc.  Powe wouldn't have helped much on perimeter defense, but he sure as heck could have helped on O.

Clutch by Paul.
Well, the Lakers stopped helping off of him, so he was no longer getting open layups, that's why he got pulled. His last 2 shots were airballs in traffic. The problem is not small ball. The problem comes when you stop playing. Unless of course you think that it's a good tactic to put Garnett, Powe or Perkins guarding Radmanovic in the corner.

it may seem wierd but if LA falls short this could really take more away from them then a blowout would have.

hey, i do wonder about that. the announcers were talking about that in the phoenix/spurs series, how losing that OT battle was more damaging than getting blownout would be. Getting blownout, you can just tell yourselves "hey, we're better than this, they were hot, we stunk, scratch this game, start over next time." but this time, they had tons of momentum, had it down to 2, with kobe on your team...you're supposed to win if it's that close and kobe's there...but you didn't. so once again you come up short.

It was a beautiful win for three and a half quarters.  I agree with no small ball though.  Also why is Leon, clearly the player of the game along with Pierce, on the bench for that Laker run?  We needed some energy and penetration during that time and that's what he brought all game long.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

What are the media going to do now? Alot of them said Celtics done in 5. 2-0 and alot of them said last game that the Celtics go up by 2 at home, they will win. This could be the worst predicted finals in history. No matter how they want to spin this game that is what they said following game 1, no taking it back.  lol

This may sound stupid, but I think I would rather have won like that then blow the Lakers out by 20+. Not in any game, but in this game, the one right before the road trip. If the Celtics had won by 20+ I would be more concerned about Game Three. With a squeaker like this, and certainly some embarrassment at blowing such a huge lead (with some help from Kobe Fudd of course) I think the Celtics will be sharper.

Game Three is going to be very, very hard to win, but I think the Celtics have a chance to be in the game the whole way.

I'm emotionally and phisically drained (5am here), we played 3 and half quarters of great basketball that made the Lakers seem ordinary. But they are also a great team and as soon as we slowed down, they made a run. In the end what matters is we're 2-0 up but man, I hope the Cs learned a lesson here.

I almost lost it at the end but you know what, at the end of the day a win is a win.

2-0 Baby.

Wow. This team has really struggled with playing the score all year, and it happened again. Man, jump shot-happy, no ball movement and no defense, no rebounding whatsoever in the last six minutes.

If nothing else, they should have our attention going into game three. But we've got to finish a ballgame out, for crying out loud. Inexcusably bad last half of the fourth quarter.
