We are all worried about Paul's injury, but I wonder if Perk will be good enough to play to his potential? He did'nt have a good game yesterday but sometimes the Beast comes up huge. I have'nt realy heard anything about Perk today. I wonder how bad his ankle really is?

His non-factor worried me a bit and this injury worries me even more so for the simple fact that I thought that the reason that Perk played poorly was for lack of energy, and this injury will certainly not help matters.

There is a link on this site that says Perk was about 60%. If he is not effective, Powe will probably get some time. In his short time last night he got an offensive rebound and drew a foul. How effective do you think Powe would be defensively against the Lakers if called upon?

I hated seeing PP go down and now KP...
Injuries are the worst thing, i hope everyone stays healthy for a competitive series and a satisfying result.

He'd be extremely effective ... he was very effective in the short minutes he was on the floor. I hate to see Perk injured, but I'd also love to see Leon with more substantial minutes!

Perk is game time decision. He sat out morning shootaround.

So if he's out what does it mean? PJ starting and Big Baby coming off the bench at center (with Powe at power forward)?  I still think we could flourish with that lineup I'm just curious what people think.

Perk can play a big role with this team, but he's replaceable... I'm not sweating about him playing or not.

If Powe plays like he did the other night, and hopefully with a bit more energy, and PJ does his thing we'll be good. I think we were going to see plenty of Garnett at the C position anyways, so let's see how it goes.

I personally I am worried about Perk's injury. I actually think Perk is a key to this series for us, not in terms of his production but in terms of his ability to limit Gasol or Odom's effectiveness. Both of those guys have reputations as being soft and Perk can really bang bodies in the post.

I see Perkins playing.  He will gut it out.  He might be limited in his ability to get up and change shots, he will be able to provide 15-20 minutes and 6 hard fouls to keep the inside closed.

I just hope he plays smart and comes with energy. As I mentioned before, he was quite bad the other night, and I don't see this injury helping much in regards to those matters.

Even if he tough's it out, he needs to be more active defensively because he looked quite lost out there. Let's hope for the best, but I'm not really sweating it...we have capable players in our bench to fill his role.

he wasn't that bad.  He was part of bad team defense in the 1st half.  He missed a rotation when KG went out to stop Kobe.  Posey missed two rotations when Perkins went out.  It was a team failing.

But he also provided good help defense in closing the lanes during the 3rd quarter.

He was a non factor on offense.

Yeah, he stepped up a bit in the 2nd half... but if it was simply missing defensive assignments I wouldn't be as worried. I'm more worried about the energy he had there and his body language, he looked out of it and lost. You can see it in the rebounding numbers... he wasn't active. Four rebounds in 23 minutes for him is quite pitiful, and a lot of it was a result of lack of energy and day dreaming, not putting a body on other rebounders. That's what bothered me more than anything.

When the Celtics outrebound the other team by that much, I don't worry so much about who grabbed what rebound.

more to the point, the Celtics big men did a good job keeping the Lakers big men off the boards.  Allowed other Celtics to grab rebounds.
