I tore my ACL when I was 14 playing basketball. It was a two part process the first time was on a tie up (jump ball situation) where I got basically got judo flipped. The final blow was  on a basic pivot.

I want to focus on the first time though. I still played a little bit of the game and I had another game the same night. By night things went stiff and I had to sit down. I did not go to the doctors. About a week later I was up and playing again with a sleeve and honestly did not feel any pain. In hindsight I was most likely playing with a partial tear  of my ACL. The second time things happend I was not wearing my sleeve.

Knowing what I know from personal experience (I was also younger so the pain sub-sided faster). If Pierce did tear his ACL partially he might be able to play still for this series and because of the amount of adrenaline he was able to play in the game that he got injured. I think he needs to keep wearing the sleeve, he needs an MRI asap and he needs to determine if he should play. He may even have to sign a liability waver.

Paul is hurt there is absolutely no doubt about it. He probably should not play another game but as a greedy selfish person I WANT HIM TO KEEP PLAYING. I hope the trainers don't shut him down. Knee injuries are VERY deceptive.
