Anyone have any idea what the prognosis is on this injury.  In the post game Paul doesn't seem sure about his status for Game 2.  Obviously that would change the outlook of this series.

My guts says he'll play. I hope this isn't going to be too serious or affect his game too much. I'd like to know how Perkins is doing too. He didn't play that great tonight but you never know when he'll show up and when he plays good then we usually win.
With the way Paul was jumping around and smiling at the end of the game I personally think he'll be playing. This is the Finals, unless his leg falls off he'll try and play.
Peace through Tyranny

I thought they said strained meniscus.  That would be better than torn.  I'm sure he will be all kinds of sore tomorrow.  Saturday will be the key day.  Will it feel better than it will tomorrow, or worse.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

A torn meniscus is pretty serious so I don't think he would be able to come back and play the way he did with that type of injury.  The last I heard it was a sprain and that sounds more reasonable.  Don't worry, it's all GOOD ;)

If there's any player that can play through pain it's our boy PP.   :)

They said sprain or strain in the Press Conference.

He did say strained.

Paul could barely walk out of the press conference.

I've actualy had this injury when i was 16.

It's painfull when you move around but not to such an extend that you that you cannot walk/run. Allthough i had my knee lock up quite alot when i had it, and i had surgury quite quick after.. only tool a month to get healthy again after that.

All things considering, i think paul is lucky that if something in his knee should be torn or destroyed, then this is one of those you could play with.

Here's to hopeing you got it wrong and that it isnt torn, and just sprained!

I understand that he had crazy adrenaline going on tonight, he said that in his press conference.  However he seemed as smooth as every in that fourth quarter, enough to the point where I believe he will be effected on Sunday night, but not to the point where he won't be playing.  10 years is a long time to wait for this, if he can walk he will play.

All I know is Pierce said he heard a pop, which is the last thing I wanted to hear.  Not trying to be a pessimist, but that is something people hear / sense when they tear a knee ligament.  Of course, even if it is a tear, depending on the type and given the strength of his legs, he may be able to gut it out for the series anyway. . . .

But here's hoping its just a treatable sprain and the captain is okay.  Lord knows the Celtics need him.  And, regardless of the outcome of the series, it would be quite sad if he were unable to participate.

Anyway, I would imagine that most people, like myself, are so pumped right now that they arent really concerned / are presuming he is okay because he came back in the game.

when paul went down i started telling people that he was victim of 50 stab wounds. a little hyperbole never hurt anybody, right?

It is good that there are a couple days off before the next game.  My guess is he will be able to play, but will probably be a little flat footed for the next few games.  We need everyone else to come up big.  We might even get a little Tony Allen action going.
