Page2 as a whole has gotten very stale, not just Simmons.  Bill, I'm basically just skimming his articles at this point.  Gregg Easterbrook, who I used to read religiously, has become so self-rightous I can't even open up his columns any more.  Jamelle Hill, is that her name, her stuff is terrible.  Scoop Jackson?  Who writes for Page 2 that's worth reading anymore?

Best not get Roy Hobbs or myself going on Scoop or 'Mele.  Ugh  >:(

Page 2 lost the plot after Ralph Wiley died. He was so head and shoulders above everyone else on the ESPN roster in terms of analysis, including Simmons. It's such a shame that he died so young, such a smart and talented guy. His basketball columns were just genius (I remember one where he compared players to jazz greats, and 'Toine was Dizzy Gillespie and Iverson was Charlie Parker, just such a great concept). He was literally the only person anywhere in the sports world who called Larry Brown and the Pistons over Kobe, Shaq, Phil and the Mailman in 2004, too bad he died before the series ended...

Well said.  I definitely miss Wiley.  His work was so head and shoulders above anything found on Page 2 these days.
