YAY I'm on! WOOO!!  And I got one vote.... from me!!! (I'm not ashamed at all... now I just have to get my mom to sign up for Celticsblog)

These aren't entries, just for fun:

Zen scrub, obnoxious
great, yet so overrated
Win this one for Red!

MVP they chant
Cries of Kobe, but drowned out
a sea of green defense

Three long journeys
Not yet at an end, but now
who could ask for more?

One man, one mission
But how can he hope? When three
Three live's dreams collide?

???  I can't believe this Haiku thread has made it 7 pages deep so far and has been read roughly 1000 times.  I guess my fellow Celticsbloggers are a little more cultured than I thought.  8)  But allow me to express myself within the spirit of the thread:

Seven pages deep
Focused on seventeen glee
Celticsblog, classy

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Some roses are red
Lakers are gold and purple
Kobe Bryant sucks

See?  5-7-5.

Love this, Roy ... I split a gut on it, LOL! Just goes to show ... doesn't have to be eloquent to be good. Also loved the Mamba one ... and voted for it. (That's right, I only voted for one of mine, believe it or not.  ;)) Can't believe so many have viewed this thread, and so few have not voted ... c'mon CelticsBloggers, pitch in!

Haha.  Thanks, Bahku.  Some of the haikus in here -- including your own -- are very eloquent and evocative.  Mine, not so much.  I simply try to either make people laugh, or get out my Kobe angst.  Or both.

Haikus don't seem to be our general membership's taste, based upon the limited number of votes.  Maybe they'd prefer Shakespearean sonnets?

Oh, I think the Mamba one is as eloquent and as good as they come ... without a doubt the standard here. In case some missed it:

Thank you, Bahku.  +1 for swelling my ego.

Your efforts above were top-notch.  This one is my favorite, of course:

BTW Roy Hobbs is the offical winner of the haiku contest. He wins free calligraphy lessons.

I dunno where he will find free calligraphy lessons but Im positive he deserves them.

*Bow*.

I would like to thank the ten posters who voted for me, out of the hundreds of people who visited this thread.  It was a hard fought haiku contest, but I just went out there and gave it 110%, and thanks to God, I was just fortunate to win.

    Just Venting

Kobe really sucks
The Lakers really suck, too
This is a suck-fest.

       Apology

I'm really sorry
Garbage spewed at the Lakers
(I really meant it).

      Apology #2

This time it's the truth
I hated that crap I said
I am sorry ... NOT!

Haha.  Nice ones, Redz and Bahku.

I think this thread gave the team the momentum it needed to come up big at home.  We'll see where the good guys stand after Game 5; there's a slight chance we may need to resurrect this.
