For those of you who have something to say, not that he'll respond if it's negative, but he still has to read it  8)

Only if he chooses to answer the questions from Celtics fans.  I think he will, he'll have to as there will be thousands of them.  I'm sure he'll just come up with some witty excuses.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Yeah, that's my concern.  That he'll simply ignore the Celtics fans who decide to call him out.

You absolutely know that he's going to play the "reverse jinx" card at some point, just like he tried to in terms of KG's performance.

Disingenuous tripe.

Yeah, he has certainly lost my respect.

Maybe I will print the chat out tonight and read it when I am in the Loo (sorry, I have been surrounded by Brits all day).

I will give him this one last chance to win me back as a reader...but if he pulls out the Doc will lose this series for the C's card, I am done.

ugh...first question is a reverse jinx question. Ridiculous.

Quote
Bill Simmons: (12:03 PM ET ) I'm done with the reverse jinx thing - I spent 2 days crafting that last column and sold it too convincingly, there are some people back home who actually think I'm a Lakers fan now. I had a whole master plan to make up for what I did to the Pats in January but I'm abandoning it. Although I will say that I'm a little wounded that anyone from back home would ever think that I liked the Lakers and not the Celtics. There were some obvious clues in the Friday column that were right there ... I am amazed that anyone would think I would just blindly write that the Lakers are completely unbeatable when their backup big man for the 4-5 spots is Ronnie freaking Turiaf.

Um, yeah.  And all the bitterness aimed at the Celtics all season has been a "reverse jinx", too.  More likely, he was just sick of the hate mail.

Hollywood sell out.

My question to him (Not verbatim):

"So no commitment for the reverse jinx either? Thats 0-2 Bill. Just apologize for all this sillyness, say something awesome about KG and tell us how happy you are the Celtics are in the finals. We'll let it slide."

Heh but it was obvious that was what he was doing.   It still ticked me off though.  By "obvious clues I was reverse jinxing" he's probably talking about how he called the Celtics fans obsessed diehards and the Lakers fans lackadaisical bored people who showed up late to games... and then spun it like it was a benefit to the Lakers.

So he's admitting it's not a reverse jinx?  He just legitimately thinks the Lakers are absolutely the better team?  I can't see how a real C's fan can honestly think that.  This is a close matchup, an easy one for both fan bases to honestly and deeply feel that they have the better team.  I think we should call him the LA Sports Guy from now on.

No he's admitting it was a reverse jinx. Which I think is just as spinelesss.
