He was down because the last time he got this close, Kobe killed his team.  And deep down, he knows it is about to happen again...

Ah just like the Lakers fan that made this video.  Do you guys have any material from this year, or this decade for that matter.  These two rosters put together as they are now have never played each other, let's not live in the past when the present and the future is going to be so much fun.

"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I didn't even see KG in the trophy presentation.  Paul kissed the silver ball.  Ray held it and posed for the cameras.   Must be a superstition thing with KG.

Seriously let's see some current roster highlights.

Also I'd imagine an LA version of this video wouldn't be too flattering.

He said his feeling was "neutral", right?  I didn't catch the whole interview, but he definitely wasn't as ecstatic as all us fans were.

Yeah...Tafoya almost dropped the microphone!

All I'm saying is to enjoy it...this is the furthest that you've ever gone!

thats a terrible attitude, that leads to teams that are out in 5 games because their just happy to be there.

the goal is an nba championship, not breaking down in giggles over a finals appearance.

KG will be ecstatic for you to watch when he wins the title, right now the man is focoused on the ultimate goal, and thats not a eastern conference championship.

we don't hang banners for those.

Yeah, like this one.  Check out Kobe at 40 seconds in, absolutely priceless.

That second video is AWESOME!  Especially the part where is says no playoff series won, no second round series won, no mvps won.

See ya'll next week.

So are you guys now bragging about second round wins and regular season MVPs?

i would like to assume (purely speculation), that he was containing himself in respect for true celtic pride.  celebrate championships, not conference championships.

The last time he got this close, Sam Cassell got hurt ... and Shaq killed his team ...

I loved how KG handled himself. Nice balanced focused outlook. Not the emotional rollercoaster we usually see.

Edit: Okay didn't see the emotionally drained quote until now. Don't like that one bit. Do you think from his play KG is actually emotionally drained?

  • KG is da Man
I think he's 'neutral' feeling comes from the fact that he has his eyes on the prize and will not be distracted because he knows this is his time. I would imagine him shutting himself inside his house for the next week not even picking up phone calls from relatives and friends. He is getting ready. Once he gets the ring, expect him to shake the earth.
Anything is possible!!!

"It's kind of surreal," Garnett said. "Probably hasn't even hit me yet because we haven't slept in about four days, going on five days now. Going to the Finals, I'm just hoping to get some sleep."
