No matter what happens from here - hopefully 4 wins - I have NVER felt this way as a Celtics fan.  I am 27 years old and can vaguely remember the C's losing to Detroit in '89.  I can remember being in tears thinking that they would nevr be there again.  Little did I know that I was pretty much right.  20 years later I have been a diehard for this team sonce even before then.  I feel as though tonight I have collected some of the debt owed to me from so many years of agony.  We are finally going back to the NBA FINALS!  It still has not sunk in - it doesn't seem real.  Not to mention we are playing the Lakers!@  Wow!!!!  Lets go get #17 boys!   Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

What a feeling.

I'll call it "nearly incomparable happiness" as a fan -- only because I think four wins from now might have an even better feeling, if we get there.

But this ain't too shabby in the least  ;D

We're goin' to the Finals! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I hear everyone that posted before me.  I can honestly say this is one of the greatest feelings in my life.  Since I was born a few years after the 80's run I never got to see any of the glory days from the 60's on up through the 80's...well except for all those times on ESPN Classic.  It still hasn't totally hit me that the Celtics made it back to the top...well almost that is.  If this is how getting to the finals feels I can only imagine what witnessing a championship as a fan would feel like!  BEAT LA!   ;D

I was born in 86 so we're on the same boat. This really is the best feeling I've ever had as a sports fan, and that's saying a lot considering the Sox have won 2 world series and the Patriots have won 3 Superbowls and the Bruins have...well...they almost won one series once.

Here's to being a part of something just as special as what some of our esteemed CelticsBlog veterans have seen.  ;D

I just got up an hour ago after watching
my man PP take down Detroit in the 4th.
I've only slept like 4 hours and I'm tired
as hell but you know what?
I don't care. WE'RE IN THE FINALS!
The C's really showed cajones this time out
and today I'm all like "bring on the Lakers!"
It's a wonder I can even type this post since
my arms seem to be constantly pointing up towards
the sky ;D

To quote Kobe and Paul Pierce, what a difference a year makes!  I live in Boston and attend Northeastern but last year, I lived in Riverside, CA for 6 months for co-op.  Desperate for some basketball, I watched a lot of the Lakers.  I attended a Celtics/Lakers game in person at Staples and I got a lot of ribbing from the fans for wearing the Green but it was all lighthearted, good natured ribbing because of the insignificance of the game.  I'm not sure if it's safe to go back to LA if Boston takes the first 2 games of the series.

My post makes no sense but I wanted to contribute my Lakers/Celtics history.

PS. Seeing Paul Pierce wearing that Finals hat last night made him look 10 years younger huh?  I am so incredibly happy for him.  He's such a true asset to the league.

Where Celtics happen....
And what a performance by the team, playing that hard on D every other day thru 3 series.
They must be truly bruised and battered, specially by those motown hardballers.
Time to recharge the battery and get ready for tinseltown, both the team and us.

Im a Celts fan since 1980....i was a teenager when the Celts won in 1981 (first time ANY of my favorite teams had won a championship, so that one is still special  1984, and 1986...they also made the finals (but lost) in 1987....at that time, most Celts fans basically took it for granted it was going to happen almost every other year, making the finals....then what I call The Black Cloud came over the franchise, and didnt leave for about 21 years....

thats whats making this SO MUCH MORE SPECIAL.....this run that the New Three are taking the Celts on....you just NEVER KNOW when you will go on a run like this again.....and I am so HAPPY AND EXCITED its unreal....even though i have been ECSTATIC over the Red Sox and the Patriots (very close to my heart as well), the Celtics going on a run like this is giving me an even more SPECIAL feeling.....only one last thing to get done, then i can say it WILL BE TRUE HEAVEN...

This run is MIRACULOUS....think about where we were last year, true Celts fans......Pierce gets his first serious injury....we go thru the embarrassment of losing 18 STRAIGHT GAMES....the acccusations of tanking...and then THE LOWEST OF LOWS ON DRAFT LOTTERY NIGHT.....that was my LOW as a Celtics fan.......

AND NOW THIS!!!    you cant call this a "turnaround"....that is an extreme understatement.....this is a straight up WONDER....we need to take that last step.....then just celebrate like we've never done before baby!!!
