Quote
"That's awesome," Barry said, "because Doc Brown is waiting for me outside, and we're going to get in the DeLorean and fire up the flux capacitor and we're going to go back and shoot a couple of free throws."

That's hilarious

for context, he was referring to the league's appology for missing the call

Yeah, I still do not understand what good it did to have the league admit they screwed up the call.  On the other side, Barry should known how to draw the contact and force up a shot to make the refs call the foul.  It is not like he was raised in a dumb basketball family.

I disagree that Barry did not do a good job of selling the call. A foul is a foul. It was hard contact, and clearly affected his ability to get off the shot. To suggest that he did not "sell it" is buying into that phony Reggie Miller POV, and what is wrong with the league. It was a foul.  Call it.

Don't forget there are a load of nut job conspiracy theorists out there who claim the NBA covers everything up. Full disclosure in cases like this makes sense.

Hats off for the quote, but isn't it funny that the ONE time one of their players didn't exaggerate a call it ended up losing them a playoff game?  It's funny, but it just gives them even more reason to complain and act like the ****' Mighty Ducks in coach Bombay's first game.

Also, I'd like to wonder aloud about what the league does to penalize referees who make calls that so grossly affect the outcomes of games?  Are they reprimanded in any way?
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

I imagine reference is being made to the pretty puerile attempt by the League to butcher the merited victory by the Lakers in Game 4 of the WCF.  I have never been a blind homer about these things, though I am a Laker fan.  I reviewed in slo-mo a number of questionable calls resulting from this particular game.  It is unfortunate that it is always only the last call of a number of incorrect calls that will be remembered, in particular by those would wish the game result was different.  If anyone is really interested in wanting to acritically judge the probity of the final result, then I will not perorate this cause, but I will suggest that they view for themselves the calls and the non-calls of just the last quarter of play.

Barry's lucky he didn't get called for an offensive foul...Salvatore wasn't there huh?

Yeah, yeah, I know!  I only use English when I write it, usually for technical journals and such.  I normally speak Spanish, or Italian.  Hope my written English is not too stilted to be understood...

Plebians?  Sorry if I come off this way...

The NBA had to admit it. The whole world was watching. Deny that "one" and they lose all credibility. I find it strange the one rogue official we know about is discredited by the league personally not professionally. Makes one wonder why they will not let him name others. Maybe they need a new press secretary.
