I remember the Bucks killing the Celts in 1983 and Bird coming back the next year on fire.  I believe there was one game in which the Celts were in Milwaukee and beating the Bucks pretty handily and as the clocked ticked down, Bird took the ball to the corner, hoisted up a 3 and walked off before ball came down.  Game over.  Did this happen?

Yed indeed, it did happen.  Glance about 8 or 9 posts northwards ;)
Yup

PLEASE tell posey to stop trying the HERO three also, introduce him to the layup......! He tries as many layups as he does 3's......Uh, Mr Posey, we need inside stuff, the three is for garbage time, or those guys in the 60% make-it bracket!!! same for every C's player, and make sure someone is under the rim before you shoot, like LEON P......! Perk now too! PJ also! So, yes i agree, leave the three for those 18 year old hero's at the gym, who never pass...and never win a pick up game because of it.....hahahahahah......!

posey isn't an inside guy, he's a spot up three shooter. thats his shot. and posey is a deadly three point shooter.

he is bad at the midrange and average at driving at best.

its all well and good to criticize pierce and allen, who can do different things to score a higher percentage shot, but james posey is much like bruce bowen in the respect that their great defenders who are also very good three point shooters from their spot. their not premier offensive guys who can go get a good look like pierce and allen, they do one shot very well, and that's their role on offense.

poseys spot is high left or right, bowen's is the corner.

i understand your frustrated with the threes in general, but to me, this criticism makes no sense.

Like I said, there is barely any teams that go far looking for the 3 to save them, it is a lazy players shot and only Ray Allen on the Celts should be taking it. Posey has a terrible average and does not belong shooting it at all. His defense is good, so stick with what you do. Not being able to drive or get inside makes no sense to me. If you can move on D, you can move on offense. Move and dish. Evey NBA player needs to have at least 1 dependable shot, and not a 3. After all, that is what they do for a living. How hard is it to understand hustle, movement, shot selction, and court sense...?  Hmmmm Antoine Walker loved the three, didn't he.......? but he WAS good inside...if he wanted to....hustle......!

You got that right, we'd have been eliminated before it got to seven because the "volume" shooter would've shot us out of the series.

How Pierce plays with leads was always one of my pet peeves over the years, part of why I wanted him traded before the arrival of the big two.  Not just the taking of three pointers as daggers, but turnovers resulting from being fancy.   What we and Paul got with the arrival of Garnett was a personality stronger than his, which is exactly what Paul himself needed for his own benefit.  Garnett's intensity  has made Pierce much more savvy in this regard...
There aren't many  players who never play the score or celebrate too early....

If those kinds of players are old school, then I love old school......

I didn't mean top bring A walker into this, but to clarify what i meant...about him...is- He was/is a great player with an awesome set of skills, inside-ballhandling, court vision, court sense, post moves, rebounding, hustle, passing......It is just he got away from it and settled for an unproductive 3 point shot, like a spoiled kid who's father was the coach or something...it kills the whole idea of a team game when you come over half court, get at "your spot" and shoot......but that is just my opinion......One more note here is that, can we get to the point where we read others posts and NOT attack others positions, grammer, diction or thoughts, remember we ALL are on the same team here...when you use your sarcasm to attack one of our guys posts, you really look like the guy doing 45 in the left lane at rush hour.....just to bring them into "your world of a miserable existance...."......Just read it and leave it.....We have a title to win here, and they cannot do it without us!!!!LOL!
